Also Fallon Taylor had a clean run on Baby Flo. She put blinders on her and ended up pulling a check. eta cause I had Brit down for 2nd instead of 3rd. Sorry guys.

But that girl is RIDING that horse. And riding him very well.
I picked them out in the first round as being an amazing pair. I LOVE Bo's style. He's smooth & just drags that butt around those barrel. THAT is what I love to see, a fast horse that slides around the cans. It's just so much fun to see, and that is the kind of style that wins open barrel races too. LOVE me some Bo |

| Taylor Jacob Shatters Arena Record in Round 6 of Wrangler NFR | | | | Written by Danika Kent | By Danika Kent – Photo by Ross Hecox She may have had a slow start to the week, but the tipped barrels that plagued the first two rounds of Taylor Jacob’s inaugural Wrangler National Finals Rodeo were a distant memory tonight when she left a 13.37 on the clock in the Thomas and Mack Center Arena. Her round six win bested the previous record set by Carlee Pierce on Rare Dillon, a 13.46 in 2011, by nine hundredths of a second. “It’s his heart that makes him so good,” said a teary-eyed Jacob. “He tries so hard. He’s amazing, he really is. He did his job and I tried to help him a little bit.” Jacob bought the lethally-fast, Marne Loosenort-trained gelding from Angela Michaels in February of 2012. Tonight, the lefty carried the WPRA Rookie of the Year to WNFR glory. “It just solidifies the fact that I thought my horse was the best. Now maybe he is,” Jacob said of the achievement. “I don’t know, I think he is. It just means so much because there have been so many greats in this building. So many. The fact that he’s up there with the rest of them, and I was riding him, is awesome. It’s a great ride.” Mary Walker stopped the clock at 13.64 to finish in second place for the second night in a row. Walker is closing the gap on Sherry Cervi’s lead, but Cervi has some security in her first-place position in the average. Brittany Pozzi finished third on Ima Super Fly Guy with a 13.69, her fastest of the week. Cervi, the only cowgirl to place in each round of this year’s NFR, clocked a 13.75 on MP Meter My Hay to finish fourth. Round 6 found Fallon Taylor back on Flos Heiress, who also made her best run of the week with 13.76 seconds worth of work. Christy Loflin and Lisa Lockhart split sixth with 13.87-second runs on Sheza Blazin Move and An Oakie With Cash. Don’t miss the February issue of Barrel Horse News to read in-depth coverage of all the great stories from the 2013 Wrangler NFR. Barrel Racing Results – 6th Go Round: 1. And still placed in the round. That has to be one of the fastest rounds in history. That horse is so calm in the alley & just waits for her to tell him when to go. And he runs so straight from point A to point B. I can't wait to see WrapSnaps critique of this round. |

This is the first I've ever heard of her.... nothing taken away from her- she and Bo are doing a heck of a job. Would really love to see them run another 6 or 7 days in TM... I bet they would eventually run a 13 flat or come really close. I really hated hearing Michele and Slick hit another barrel, hopefully the rest of the rounds will be clean and maybe get some more money. I know Sherry is playing it a bit safe for the average, but would like to see a few more 13.66 or better runs. Mary is really hanging in there. All the rest of the girls are doing their best. Wonder who will get voted best dressed?
Got a question for all the rodeo guru's- I was watching 1984 NFR barrels on youtube - Charmayne (14) and Scamper...her fastest time was 16.29 I think -so ? is was this NFR in OKC or Texas? What year did NFR move to Vegas? Looking at barrel pattern how much smaller is TM to OKC- or would anyone care to guess. The reason I'm asking is years ago inTM if a you ran a low 16 or mid 15 you were flying, now you have to be in the high 13 or lower to place. Could the pattern be a bit smaller now than before?

I think he is the calmest horse there is coming down that alley! That is one of the most unique things about him-- of course besides the fact that he is smooth as butter and freakishly fast. What an amazing horse to have. My favorite kind: "asleep" until it's go time. He is so cool. Last night's round was amazing all the way around! |

The 1984 NFR was the last in Oklahoma City. It moved to Vegas in 1985. The times have changed at Vegas due to seats being added at one time. They also added some sand to the dirt, I think that was last year maybe. |

We did youth rodeo and highschool rodeo with Taylor. She has been a hand since she was little. She did not got to barrel races or jackpots so probably why no one outside of our area has heard of her and why she did not make any news in the barrel magazines. She ropes and ties goats she as good as she runs barrels. |

I really don't think Sherry is playing it safe. Stingray appears to be really tight and honed in. I think she is actually having to ride harder to keep her clean. IMO you cant "safe up" on a horse that is that tight. That's the worst thing you can do. I think her times are slower due to how tight Stingray is not because she is safing up. Bo is not losing his momentum and that's why he is smoking them. |

Aqhaczy - 2013-12-11 10:05 AM I know some of you know or have heard of Taylor, but I'm wondering why she's never had an article in BHW news.
We did youth rodeo and highschool rodeo with Taylor. She has been a hand since she was little. She did not got to barrel races or jackpots so probably why no one outside of our area has heard of her and why she did not make any news in the barrel magazines. She ropes and ties goats she as good as she runs barrels.
Saw where she won the breakaway saddle for the Southern college region in 2011. That's a tough region! And she mentioned in one of her interviews that she prefers going to ammy's because they give her the chance to win money in 2 events instead of 1. What a hand! |

Maybe now people won't be so afraid to put a tiedown on their horse if it needs one. LOL That run gave me chill bumps. What an awesome horse and she rode him perfect. And I just love what Christy L posted.
Perish the thought! |

It's Honor Thy Frenchman. Originally is was SF Helluva Frenchman I think. Whoever bought him from Shoemaker's changed it. There is a great article in the latest BHN about all the horses, who trained them, and where they came from. |
