| Had one. Beautiful mare! Could get hot. Kinda started over with her and stayed calm/quiet. Ask, don't tell, is what I agree with also. |

| Agreed! I have a pacific bailey mare that is one of my all time favorite mares. It took me a long time to get her going and to get through to her because she is so dang smart and won't be forced or told to do a thing.
She's one of those that the typical approach just doesn't work on. Once I realized this and took a different approach she has been by side the entire way. I thought about selling her once (due to financial reasons) but was worried if she didn't get into the right hands she would just get passed around. If you respect her, she'll respect you and give you a 110%.
But you get rough, tough, try to force her to do something, pick a fight, or lose your temper, get after her, she just won't have it. She has resentfully bucked me off a few hard times when I've got cocky and impatient and tried to force her into something. Definitely not afraid to stand her ground if it's necessary to get her point across.... But any average day she is the farthest thing from a bucker or humpy horse, tries extremely hard, and would go to the other end of the earth and back for me.
She's the only pacific bailey I've been around, but if they are all like her, I wouldn't say they are for everyone. For someone who will put in the time and effort, adapt their training styles, and have a one on one bond with them, you couldn't find a better team member. They'll put everything on the line for you if they know you'll do the same for them.
I would take another one any day. Just my type. I love a gritty mare with a mind of her own and prefer those one person horses that will set aside everything for you. They have so much heart once you get through to them. |

Location: Kansas | I have had several and liked them all. I may have been lucky but they were all easy to get along with. Had an own daughter that was a great kids horse. The people who bought her from me bought her for their 3 year old girl. She could ride her anywhere by herself. Then had a granddaughter for a broodmare. Easy to breed, great mother, let you mess with the foal and do whatever. Have a coming 3 year old granddaughter (of PB) now by Dallas Fuel. She is a little hard headed, but doesn't last long. She learns quickly. Has common sense (horse sense as my dad would say). My other 2 go back to PB. Reba has him 1 off the papers and then her daughter, Scarlett, has him 2 off. |

| I have been around a couple daughters and their colts, they were tough horses and would work hard and had plenty of speed. My father in law owned a stud who was a son named Pacific Levan he set a track record, they left him at a barn to be boarded for a few weeks and he disappeared never saw him again. |

Location: Somewhere playing in the mud....Oklahoma | LOVE THEM!!! Our stud Mr TT Pacific is out of a PB daughter.
They are SO SMART, only show them the right way because they retain everything you teach them. All of ours have been very sensitive and want to please you no matter what. Very light mouthed, big stoppers, snappy turners and lots of speed to burn! They want to bond with you and once you bond they will give you 150% every time. Ours have tended to be a "one person horse"..as I said they like to bond. They also DO NOT like to be picked on, or whipped. They aren't for a heavy handed or "force method" type person. Show them their job and leave them alone...don't nit-pick. And work ethic galore...very much multi event type horses! |

Location: Missouri | I absolutely love them. I have 3 granddaughters, and one double bred great granddaughter, and one great grandson. They are tough, gritty, and not for everyone. You have to ask them and make it their idea.
I had a daughter of PB that I ran in college rodeo that got me addicted to them. She was 18 when I retired her to raise a colt out of, sound, and still LOVED to run. She never did anything wrong in the 3 yrs I ran her, but always gave you that sense that she could make you a yard dart at anytime. She rode because she loved it, not because you were forcing her.

| The one in my picture was a great grandson. He was hot but if I was about to
Fall off he would plant his butt and stop. He also put up a fight with farriers and I had to hold his legs for them. Sadly he coliced and now I have a 2 year old and so far I'm the only one who can pick up
His hooves, I've saddled him
And
Ridden him around twice and he acts like the saddle is

| I think that most horses with Pacific Bailey also have Bar Money in there. I think that bloodline is also very strong. Bar Money's are very fast, very athletic, prettier than Pacific Bailey's, have more amenable personalities. I think that cross of bloodlines has produced lots and lots of great horses.
Of course, I am talking in generalities and specifics in only a few cases I've experienced first hand. |

Location: Canada | I ride a Flit to Kill [Grandson of PB] very athletic and real smart. Either went to Yale or Harvard. Learned how to run good poles in 2 weeks. |
