My good mare had what the vet said is best described as tendinitis. She had a number of months off and is ready to get legged back up. I want to be able to keep her as healthy as possible and am wondering what everyone thinks is the best support boot for this?
Previously I've used polos all around but the vet suggested boots on the front to prevent concussion.

You may want to talk with your vet and shoer about shoeing needs as well. This is a common injury in heading horses. We have a couple that are prescribed 3 degree wedge shoes on the front.

cheryl makofka - 2013-12-15 9:47 AM I have seen some people run in no bows, you need to be very good at wrapping the legs. Where on the leg was the injury? I would suggest looking at icoclast, they have a therapeutic boot not sure if that is the proper name and then they have their regular ones
It was her front left on the posterior side of her cannon about half way between the knee and fetlock.
I do have a pair of iconoclasts that I've been working her in but when I looked on their website it said that they are not meant to be used in performance events, only for rehab, which I found surprising!!
We are working on increasing her shoeing angle as well.

You can run in no bows, but like mentioned above, you have to be very good at wrapping. The cutting trainer I used to work for would do polos with iconoclasts on top, for horses that had come back from torn tendons and deep flexor strains.
