I know this isn't really barrel racing, but I'm considering buying a rope saddle and I have no experience with this at all. So what it the best inexpensive saddle out there? I really don't want to spend a whole lot of money but it has to be decent quality. Thanks for any help :)

They are just like barrel saddles. Everyone likes something different. I suggest buy a quality used saddle in order to save. Check tree cause many used have damage. Dont buy poor quality to save in a roping saddle if u intend to use it for team roping. Texas ranch outfitters has the most high quality used saddles I have seen in any one store. Just remember u get what you pay for.

We have a Courts roping saddle that rides and fits great. It wasn't the cheapest thing in the world but there's also a lot more expensive saddles out there.

Tod Slone, quite a few used ones in his shop that are reasonably priced. Look at his website.

For Breakaway Todd Slone hands down, he makes a ladies roper that is made for Breakaway roping. I love mine. I like to team rope in it also but prefer a Coats but I can't afford one. I love love my Slone though.

Love my Tod Slone saddle. He makes a tree wide enough for mutton withered horses that doesnt pinch.
Also have an old Vega that I love.
My son in law rides Corriente saddles and loves them.

Honestly- if it has a solid tree and fits decent- I think they are much alike as far as factory saddles. Billy Cook, Running P, Cactus, look on Teskeys used saddles- sort by price.

Tod Slone!  Make sure you get a ladies roper--it's built narrower to fit our hips better.  My whole family ropes  and besides a Cactus, Stoney and an Ott saddle, the rest are Slone saddles.  It will last you the rest of your life.

What is your seat size? I bought a brand new Martin SC Ladies roper for $950. It has a 13" seat and the guy could not get rid of it.

I love love love it, ten years later and it still looks new!

I rope on what I win.  USTRC gives away Martins and I have always liked them.

I personally like my cowboy collection saddle. It's nice, the leather is quality and it's held up to alot of hard use.
