I had never heard of this before so I googled it. Kind of funny because about 28 yrs ago I made something close to this for a young horse I had that didn't need much. My reins went thru the rings on the side of the headstall/noseband and was one continuous piece. There were knots on the outside of each ring so it couldn't be pulled clear thru but it did allow me to have some chin strap type pressure. Mine was pretty cobbled up but it worked on him.

I'm not a fan of them. My friend had a mustang that she rode with one... I prefer something else... this is about like riding in a halter but a bit more control.
