Location: Missouri | ...but there's a new series on NatGeo called Mustang Millionaire. Did anyone see the first episode? Apparently, if the first three episodes are well-received, they will air an entire season. I missed it, but saw the documentary movie "Wild Horse, Wild Ride" and if this show is anything like it, I think people will enjoy it. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/wild/mustang-millionaire/videos/not-your-9-to-5-job/ |

| I'm all for promoting and preserving the Mustang. Not a popular opinion here I think. |

But, some of the best trainers in the business are participating these days. I appreciate a good colt starter no matter what type of horse they're training (and regardless of politics! lol!)...

| My mom is threatening to get into doing this...
I just told her if she wants to spend her blood, sweat, and tears on making over a horse, I'd send her a AAA off the track and then we'd have something out of it.
I grew up in western Wyoming out in the sagebrush and saw mustangs all the time. I guess I just feel the same way about mustangs that people in the south feel about feral hogs.
I honestly think that there should be a racehorse rehab show and bring awareness to the animals that get screwed up being used for money and entertainment by non ethical people. |

I completely respect your opinion. However, my interest, and the point of this post, is that it's an opportunity to watch some world-class trainers start horses. That's it. I hope your mom enjoys her journey and does get something out of it. BTW, I'd watch a track rehab show too!
sorry for the formatting...not sure why it's like this? |

I think there is room for both. I would love to watch a track rehab show. Just remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thank God or I would have never gotten married...bwahaha |

| I watched it. I love to watch those guys (and girls) that start colts. I think it's amazing what they can do. But there was one guy on there who didn't look very knowledgeable to me and was a wreck waiting to happen. His mustang liked to have flipped over on him. It was pretty clear he had zero control of the feet. Other than that I enjoyed it. |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | I watched most of it but will say...I'm not a mustang fan and feel it's time wasted as at the end you still have a mustang. I love quality bred horses. Can't help it. |

Here is where I am going to dare argue with you and I say dare b/c I respect you so much. There are definately qualities in a Mustang I can't buy. |

| My first horse was a Spanish Mustang that I "won" in a contest (long story). Anyway, my point is - a good horse is a good horse no matter the breed. I love my appendix QH's but that Spanish Mustang mare that was my first horse was tougher, grittier, and had more try than anything I've ever swung a leg over. And she would go anywhere I asked her to. I showed her, did omoksees with her, rode her through and over any trail I could find, jumped her, you name it, we did it. I have a soft spot for those Mustangs. Wanted to add she was about 13.2 hands tall. :)

I sure don't have a problem with someone disagreeing. If we all liked the same thing life would be boring. |

| I watched it as well! Mary Miller Jordan lives about 2 hours from me and barrel raced with us before she got into the mustang scene. She has a barrel horse named Rox Ta Gold that she trained and MAN, that horse is so smooth, deceiving, and can outrun you big time at the shows!!! She came and did a demo at one of our barrel races over the summer and I'm hoping that they air some footage on the show! |

Location: Wisconsin | Just started watching, but do all the mustang auctions bring "big money"? I would have guessed people would be spending a few hundred dollars on each horse, not $2000-$20,000! Whats is really like at the auctions? Is the big money just for the TV show? |

| I watched it and kinda like it. I did have one question about the ex-ray of the hoof. It looked like there are nail holes. I thought this horse was suppose to be wild. Someone else watch and see if I saw that right. They sure do a lot of training in 120 days. |

Location: Blissfully happy Giants fan!!! | If any of you know Rance and Josey Butler I would challenge you to ask them what they think of mustangs. Josey is a hard core barrel racer but I am almost certain she is pretty fond of her mustang Eleanor.
Her and Rance competed in the mustang challenge over the summer and had a facebook page about it. It was really interesting to follow them.
PS-Eleanor really is gifted. |

NOPE. I was at the Norco, CA auction (there's a quick shot of a boot in the bleachers... that's me.. lol), the blonde girl's horse was the high seller (I think she paid like $2500). We got 3 mustangs and spent like $750 total. |

There was a shoe on the horse when they first went to take the X ray. I'm thinking he got a shoe on first to see if it would help? |

Ok! As I watched the show more the prices became a more realistic, I was just floored at those first few! |
