Location: In a happy place | I just received a call that Rocky colicked yesterday and didn't make it. I have the copy of his papers boxed up for my move so I am not quite sure how old he was, probably around 17. I bought him just off of the track and he came here on this earth inheriently knowing the barrel pattern. Can't say I did much, just stayed out of his way and let him work. He was one of the most awesome barrel horses I ever rode. Big beautiful black boy with a star in his face. My husband made me sell him and some other geldings I had at that time. I will forever remember the rides he gave me and how much fun he was to have around. He was by Zip Cash by Dash For Cash and out of mare named Camry by Easy Jet. I will forever miss you Rocky. |

Location: Oklahoma | I saw that on Facebook. So sorry for our loss. I lost one of my greats that I sold a couple of weeks ago. Even though you no longer own them, they still have a place in your heart and it still hurts to know they're not longer there. Hugs. |

Location: In a happy place | TIA I have cried and whined so much to you I don't see how you can stand to hear me cry one more time. I am still crying so hard every day for Chubby that this hit just too hard at a really bad time. I have tried to not cry when I talk to you so thought it was best to not bring it up. When I feel like I can control myself I will call you and tell you what else I am dealing with at the moment. I just need to remember that I am blessed. |

Location: Texas Baby!! | I had the privlage of owning this amazing horse for the last 11 years. He was my first barrel horse, he made me the rider I am today. He and I bonded like I never thought I could bond with an animal. He gave me 110% every time I ran him, he had the biggest heart of any horse. There was one time I had a broken leg and was unable to feed so my mom was feeding for me and Rocky wouldn't eat so my mom would have to help me get in the golf cart twice a day so I could go feed him it was te only way he would eat, apparently he thought she was going to poison him lol! This has been the most difficult thing I've ever had to deal with in my short 25 years of life. Going outside to the barn just isn't the same, my best friend isn't there anymore! He isn't there chasing the other horses, knickering for me to come feed him, trying to escape through the gate to get to the mares, kicking at other people (he really didnt like others especially farriers lol)! He was my once in a lifetime horse! He gave me my first barrel racing check on our first run together, he gave me my first buckle, my first saddle, and my first barrel mag cover! I could go on forever he was an absolutely amazing horse and best friend and I will miss him so much!! |
