Since being back in the states I've really been convicted of convicted of and striving for selflessness, it's an incredibly eye opening journey and a goal that I easily lose sight of and am quickly reminded to pursue again. My Devo this morning said: "How would your life [and the world] change if you focused more on loving others rather than having them love you?" I'm a people pleaser- I like affirmation, I like to be liked... It's the most incredible irony to me that it's almost impossible to be a "people pleaser" all the time and a Christian... AND that I find the most meaningful connections with people when I am intentionally loving them and focusing on Jesus. :) one of my favorite Mama T quotes includes a line that says, "Jesus please deliver me... From the need to be preferred..." WOW. Thanks for reading my gush! The Lord has really been working on me lately.

Great Reminder!! It's sometimes hard to think this way when trying to please others. But like you said, when I take the focus off of trying please others and focus on what is pleasing to God then things just seem to fall into place, and a lot of weight is taken off my shoulders because I know I'm doing my best to do what's right in Gods eyes. Thanks for sharing!! Have a Great Day!!
