Location: ohio-in my own little world with pretty ponies :) | I should have asked before I ordered but I was excited! I've been wanting a new breast collar and head stall for Hemi and the boyfriend ok'd it for Christmas. And he for sure knows better than to not let me pick it out! I found them online and seem to be good quality. Anybody have any experience with their tack? http://www.hilason.com/products/31971/MAHOGANY+BLACK+HILASON+WESTER...

| I know their saddles are a complete NO NO, the tack is not the best quality and the leather can be really stiff, if it's a price point you're looking at I'd go with Bar H. They tend to hold up a little better and won't break the bank. Just my Opinion. |

Thanks! It's so hard buying tack...there isn't much around here but I definitely checked out the return policy before I ordered and it will be sent back if it's not very good lol |

| I ran accross some of their saddles the other day and noticed how "good" they look for the prices. |

Location: Where cold is the normal | The bridle maybe a bit oversized. I had a one ear show up here for bling once and the bridle cheeks were HUGE. |

Hopefully that's not the case for these. If they aren't perfect they are going back and my search is on. I am fully aware that something may be wrong or I may not get exactly what I order bc I ordered online and not personally seeing it. But it's worth a shot to try.
Has as anybody else seen something not overly expensive like this? |

How is the mad cow leather, I had someone tell me they were garbage.

I definitely agree their saddles are a NO NO. Looked real nice but rode completely yuck. Put you in the wrong place. No way you could help your horse out with that saddle. I don't know about their headstalls. Once I experienced the saddle I never went there again. I'm willing to pay the price for high quality. I am having a headstall made by the local leather guy they way I want it. But I also like the stuff from doublejsaddlery.com. |

Location: Natchitoches, La. | Well, I actually got one of those saddles for an extra and I actually like it better than my Bob Marshall. It looks better and keeps me perfect position with feet a little forward which I prefer. I think they have improved in the past couple of years. The leather and tooling on my saddle looks really good.. Everybody thinks it is a Tammy fisher .. I looked at that same breast collar after I was so pleasantly surprised with the saddle.. Hopefully when it comes in you will be happy with it.

| Going out on a limb here...I have never seen any hilason tack in person but they are not "brand name" there are tack snobs ( oh come on, we all know it's true) a saddle or bridle, whatev, doesn't have to be fancy to work. Go look at them, decide for yourself. do your homework. Personally I want to take a bob marshall apart and see what's in there, just for pure fascination. I can't offer an experienced opnion just the rebel recommendation to think for yourself and decide for yourself. |

I sort of figured that's what might happen when I posted it. I know a lot of people that if it isn't "name brand" or well known then it's no good.
But....they might not be any good. I've heard of them before but never seen any of their work in person. I ordered this set bc it's exactly what I was looking for and for a good price. If it works out, awesome. If not, I will send it back and keep looking! Thanks ;) |

Here is a link to the patent for the Bob Marshall treeless saddles. http://www.google.sc/patents/US5018340 |

Location: ohio-in my own little world with pretty ponies :) | Soo I just went out and saddled him and put it on him just because I was that excited! Hahah. It a little stiff but doesn't feel cheap mostly just like it needs to be used. It was very easy to adjust to him. It fits him perfectly! He is so handsome and looks grown up in it! Is that possible? Oh boy i was so worried I wouldn't ljke it but I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

First of all, I'm so happy for you that the tack wasn't cheaply made and it fits your horse! I'm always terrified of buying some tack offline.
Secondly, where did LPcanchaser12 buy your saddle? I'd love to buy a treeless saddle in the future but Hilason saddle always scared me. How long have you had your saddle? |
