How do you get I to this line of work? It's something I've always been curious about since I excel at typing (98 wpm) |

| I work for an IT Company in Baltimore doing a government contract. Been doing this type of work for 35 yrs, but from home for only the past 3. I love being home, but the work is tiresome and boring. Ready to retire and do what I want to do, but the money is too good. So I'll stay for a few more years. |

Location: Northern California | I went to private business colleges, learned the theory and went through all the speed classes to qualify to take the national and state exams. Each state is different in their qualifications. You could probably contact the NCRA or Google court reporting schools to see if there is one close to you. |

Location: OK | Medical transcription. You have to be able to type fast, have to be good at punctuation and grammar. You have to be disciplined enough to make yourself sit there and work. I love it.

Location: Texas | Those of you that work from home, do you live in a rural area? If so do you have a land line that is DSL? I would love to work from home but I can't seem to find employment that doesn't require a land line with high speed internet and my phone company won't bring a line out here to me.

Location: South Dakota | I'm a project manager for the United States largest transcription company. I manage about 100 transcribers, invoicing clients, taking invoices from transcribers, making sure files are right, assigning files, and tracking assignments. This is only about 1/4 of what I do as project manager.
We do closed captioning, subtitling, and cut scripts for HBO, CMT, A&E, Cinemax, and many many more.
My job is rewarding and fulfilling, but I work very hard! |
