I am putting this up to try and find out all the people who placed at the barrel race October 2 ,2013 at the McCue barrel race in Mead, Oklahoma. I won the whole 1D barrel race according to some who where there, but the results were LOST IN THE MAIL, and never got to Ross at the BBR. We have until December 31st to get the results in to count for the year. ANYONE who knows the times, names, and placing at this barrel race please let me or someone at the McCue ranch know so we can get it to count.

I would think the producer/show secretary should have the results saved on a computer.

They were deleted by accident. I thought the same thing. It is really frustrating as any 1D win is something you want your horse to get credit for, and for some reason, no one can remember who placed. I was told I may have won the whole 1D as my horse made a really nice run. Problem is my horse fell on me after the barrel run, I was knocked out and taken to the local hospital due to a concussion, broken ankle, chest contusion, etc.... So I remember very little, plus it was probably chaotic from the ambulance and all having been there.

Why does this sound familiar?   Didn't this happen at another BBR run a while back and someone posted?  Is this common?

"Deleted by accident" and "lost in the mail" seems really fishy to me. I'm not saying it didn't happen but for "both" copies to have been compromised seems really odd. As a producer it behooves one to have not only electronic copies saved on the hard drive AND a removable device but also hard copies in a file. Sorry your run may not count. That's a bummer
Unfortunately, it sounds like your race may be a wash. Did they write checks with your time and placing on it? Every race I have ever produced or won money at put the arena, time and placing in the memo. If they did maybe you can get a copy from the show secretary and use that as proof for those that hit in the money.

This sounds very fishy to me too! Did you ever get paid out if you had to find out from someone else?

I got paid in cash. It was in an envelope w/the amount and placing written on it, but no time was on it. I had the time told to me by another girl who did place in the 3D. That was the only other person I have been able to find who placed. The people who put this on use to own a rodeo company out east so I am sure they know how the process works.

My question is....was it EVER BBR "approved"....sounds pretty fishy to me that the results would be "lost" and "erased".......check with the BBR to see if they ever paid the "approval" fee or just advertised it as approved (that has been done!

If they were sponsored by the BBR and you won it then you should get the points...
There has to be some records... ENTRY FORMS ( HAND WRITTEN) entry forms somewhere...
people don't just use computer entries any more...

written entries are still turned in... and when a time in ran it is still written down somewhere and by the a person's name... COME ON...

someone has records some where... BBR should give you the points...Or hold the show resp. for producing the standings.

I've known of results getting deleted off of computers before and it always makes me wonder:  Why do you not back the computer up by saving to a flash drive?  Anything I do on a computer of any real importance goes onto a flash drive.  Not only that, it's pretty easy to immediately post to a website if someone just cared enough to do it, it really shouldn't be that big of a deal.  Aggravating when I hear that results were "deleted" on accident!!!!

That's why I rarely dump my recycle bin on my computer at work.  There's always a chance that I might need something.

I put on BBR for a local cowboy church, not only are results saved to the laptop but they are emailed (so are in email). Also times and if they won money is written on entry form AND we have record of money earners for that bbr (they have to sign they got their money...). How could they lose that info and have no clue on any of it???

They need to take said computer to a computer whiz and retrieve the files. I am electronically challenged and I can do that.

Thanks for all the responses. I do believe the producer HAS gathered the information needed. I send a big thank you out to the producer for continuing to work on this. I have found the wealth of knowledge on this website from all of you is invaluable. There are so many good, knowledgable, hard working people in the horse business. This is often my go to site when I am in a bind, even if it's NOT horse related, when I want a quick, common sense, usable answer! Again, THANK YOU ALL!
