Location: Somewhere between raising hell and Amazing Grace | And huge brag on my hubby yet again. Will try to post the photos in order. There was wood panel in our dining room. While redoing the floors we pulled the panels off the wall to make sure there was no water damage. That wall is built into the ground (earth berm home).
We we found what I fondly refer to as children of the corn under the panels. Couldn't decide what to do....put the ugly panels back up, paint, or something different. Hubby picked tin. We still have to stain the wood. We don't have the floors done yet because we had to order more and it's not in yet.....
just at wanted to share......

Location: Somewhere between raising hell and Amazing Grace | We are thinking of doing the kitchen backsplash in tin but we haven't gotten far enough to even start planning that one yet!!
After the flooring, we trim, base boards, then kitchen tile, then either concrete counter tops or backsplash. |

The house is earth berm. That back wall is in the ground. The back yard is level with the bottom of the window that you see in the photo. The house itself had minor water damage probably from a water heater or dishwasher/washing machine breaking.
When we pulled up the tile against that wall it was obvious there had been water under it at some time, and since that wall is in the ground we wanted to make sure the wall itself wasn't leaking, which it wasn't, thank goodness. |

Thank you! This is the first time we have been in an earth berm and we absolutely love it! Depending on where we retire, we will certainly consider it again. I'll try to post more pics of it.

It may take us a few years to get bored!!!! Though we would be willing to help anyone if/when they needed it!
The rest of our flooring should have been here by now but Lowes has no idea when it will be in now, maybe Monday they said....so we are kind of stuck until then to finished it. I'll post pics when it's all done. Hubby is going to help his buddy rewire his house tomorrow since he's been here helping us while I stain the wood on the tin wall. |

You are WAY WAY more deserving then I am. Being able to put a smile on your face even if only for a day gave me some very much needed peace during a sad time. I'm just grateful that we all can come together like this! |
