Looking to see how everyone likes or dislikes their Corrientes? What kind of pad works best with them? What horse body type do they fit best?

I've never owned one but I did try a friends Corriente.  I have horses that are real stout and thicker and the saddle didn't work for them.  My friend rides running bred horses OTT so for her they work great.

I have one and like it. Not sure of the weight but it is pretty light. Fits best on my higher withered horses who are more narrow and I've found it fits better with a thinner pad (1/2 - 1 inch wool or felt pad versus a cutter type pad).

I do not like them.....at all. Don't like the way they sit me in the saddle, they always kick my feet back when riding. And throw me forward when a horse rates hard going into a barrel. I don't like the quality of them, and they don't fit either of my horses.  And they also only come in one gullet size.

I just won a brand new Corriente half breed and Love it! Plenty of room, good quality and have a round backed stocky horse and a narrower one. Absolutely fits both awesome!

I have a 10 and 12 inch for my daughters. Works great on all kinds of horses and seems to hold them in good.

I won one in 2002 & another in 2012. Still have both. They fit a wide variety of horses and are lightweight. I have won several saddles and They were the only ones worth keeping. Do I like my Martin Crown C better? Yes, but it cost $2500 more than a Corriente does. They are great saddles for the price.

I won one, it was poor quailty, cheeply made, didn't fit anything was supposed to have forward hung stirrups but they were not threw me forward. I never thought I'd sell a trophy saddle but I couldnt wait to be rid of that thing! Worse saddle I've ever sat in.

my sister rides in one, she really likes it. It fit her old race bred horse with extremely high withers, as well as her new horse who has no withers at all and is quite short and stout. had this one for two or three years now and still looks great, it's held up to a lot of use. On the high withered horse we had a 1" thick pad on and with the horse she uses now she has a really thin pad, at the thickest 1/4" but mainly because anything thicker will slip right off this horses back. They're great saddles for the price.

Thank you!
I'm looking for a saddle for my boyfriend, I don't know how much longer he's willing to sit in my 13.5 and 14 inch seats and wasn't looking to bend over backwards on price tags!

I liked them, they are a great saddle for the price. And are made very well. I bought one for my daughter this year, and she loves it. I use to have one I rode and it felt great but it only fit a thoroughbred I had at the time .

I had one for a week. It was a decent saddle for the price but did not fit my mare. She is more race built with a longish back. But the saddle would rock from back to front like a see saw. Bridging? It wasn't super bad but my Cactus CJ saddle fits better so sold the Corriente. But that's my experience.
