Ok guys. My grandparents got me the breast collar I wanted but they got me a tripping collar instead of the regular ones... It's a custom deal so it's not exchanged with ease... How bad is it to run in a tripping collar?

I bet it would be fine. But all you can do is see. I like them. As long as the horse you put it on isnt real narrow in the chest I don't see where there would be a problem.

Ditto. I know a gal that has a real fancy one but her horse is narrow chested and when she runs that collar flys up and about hits him in the face. I don't know if he is naturally high headed or scared of loosing an eye..
Regardless of it being a tripping collar or a regular one, make sure it fits

I bought my brother a leopard hair on tripping collar as a joke. My devious plan worked amazingly well, we got back. LOL My daughter uses it all the time but we have pretty stout, wide front end type horses.

I've ran in one - the regular breast collar was making my mare sore in the sternum so the tugging collar worked out great.. I only needed the collar to help keep the saddle from sliding back.

I guess it can be done, but the ones I have seen are so darn thick and bulky, just make sure it fits snug so it dont flop up and down. Your grandparents sound really sweet for getting you this, I can see where you would want to try to make it work for them.

So use both the tugs and I should be good then. Idk how many have seen the "Embrace Victory" tack but thê have some nice quality stuff. I got the tripping collar with purpel hearts and John 3:6 on it- it's pretty cool and really nice :)
