| Okay, so you feed experts, especially the baby feeding experts!
I have always used Triple Crown Growth for my broodmares and foals. . .
Well today, I picked up a bag of grain for a client (that I suggested to him) as the feed stores closed early and he was at work.
I recommended the Triple Crown 14% Performance Formula for his roping horses, as it had everything he was looking for. They look great on it!
I've never actually fed it, so I was looking at the bag today. . .
A performance formula should be a PERFORMANCE feed, right?! Apparently not!
The bag itself does not state for performance horses but instead foals, broodmares, and breeding stallions.
I was going to post a link to the feed, and online it says performance horses. I'm really confused now. LOL
So, I guess now, which one would you feed?
The Growth http://www.triplecrownfeed.com/products/feeds/horse-growth-formula-...
or the
14% Performance http://www.triplecrownfeed.com/products/feeds/14-performance-horse-...
The babies have free choice quality O/A hay, free choice mineral, an get beet pulp mixed in their feed with a THE blend.

That's what I said, it says it online, but not on the actual bag.
But it also says it's good for broodmares and foals. The labels are fairly similar, so I'm just curious on which you would feed? |

A lot of performance and growth/broodmare feeds are pretty interchangable, because each need increased calories etc. above what maintenance would need. Also senior diets work pretty darn well as well for performance horses for the same reasons. |

Location: Kansas | I'm seeing basically the same thing with both feeds. I'd go with the growth grain, nothing wrong with a performance grain though.
I recently put my herd on SafeChoice Perform, along with calf mana.....Im seeing the same results feeding a performance feed along with the CM that I was seeing with the baby grain.....actually no, I'm seeing a better/bigger difference. |

Location: Washington. (The DRY side.) | Based only on what it says on the links. If I were going to feed one of them it would be the 14% Performance. For some strange reason, it reads like you would need to feed them LESS of it. |

| I have always fed the growth to broodmares and babies up to yearlings then switched them to performance. My dad has used the performance for mares and babies and they did just fine. They did have one who took off on a growth spurt and had to come off of it and go to the senior which worked really well . I do think the growth helps grow them a little more even whatever it is worth. I don't feed TC anymore got to pricey here but loved it when we did. |

| Thanks, you're input has been great!
I think I'm just going to use the Performance, I'm even thinking of putting my senior on it. |

| Not many people in my area feed the performance. The TC senior is in constant rotation so I know I'm getting a fresh bag. I also like the senior for my barrel horse because the NSC is lower. |
