Is it plantar fasciatus? If so I had a real hard time with it. Perhaps a little over a year. A company called stone lang sells a heel cushion that is a real game changer. Also never go bare foot around the house.

Find a good massage therapist. I was in terrible pain to the point I could hardly get around. Went to massage therapist for unrelated issue and she helped me so much that after 3 sessions I'm about 95% better. I sure wish I had found her about a year sooner!

I started wearing Z-Coil shoes in 2003. Up until then I had severe heel pain. I wear the shoes only at work and have had no problems with my heels since.

Are you a runner?

I had this bad. So much that any time I tried to stand up id limp around till is hurt less.

Mine went away after I purchased a new pair of running/walking shoes and changed my walk and run so I wasn't hitting heel first.

Good luck

The injections dont hurt any more than anything else being injected. Heels start hurting because ankles pronate (lean in). Mine hurt so bad the summer my orthro said i had sprained both ankles, but the a:-):-) gave me a script for nsaids and my chart says cannot take nsaids due to stomach problems. But mine is killing me now and i have my feet up on the coffee table.

I had surgery for plantar fascitis and have never had any problems since, however, I cannot stand to walk barefooted anymore.

Have had plantar fasciitis really bad plus bunions. An orthopedist told me to get boots with laces and up around the ankle. To get it tight enough everywhere, I use 2 shoe laces - 1 for the top 2 holes around the ankle and another for the foot. This stabilizes the ankle, foot, and knee which has solved most of my soreness.

I don't have heel pain but ankle pain from a screw backing out of the ankle bone that had been broken, It's as if it rotates in there. It is the weirdest most painful frustrating crap most days, since I'm not working I don't dare see any one for it. I just rub it in alcohol and take lots of alleve

I have seen elastic wraps that support the ankles.

I have plantar Fascitis and I use Power step Pinnacle inserts. I never walk around bare foot.

usually heel pain is caused by the tearing of the ligament/tendon in thr bottom of your foot

Xray's?

Heel pain is usually caused by one of two things and occasionally both.

Planar Fascia or Heel spurs.

Can you post a picture of the boots you are describing?

Also, to the op....... Make sure your leg muscles aren't too tight.  Shins, calves, thighs, hamstrings, even gluts....... What position does you your foot take when at rest?  Are you able to hold it flexed or does it want to somewhat point?

I get the heel pain too. Not terrible but it just feels like there isn't enough cushion under my heels. I never go barefoot. I haven't worn laceups in years but I had a pair of Justin lace ups sitting around that I was about to get rid of. I decided I'd wear them one more time. I put them on and was on my feet quite a bit that day and my heels didn't get sore at all.

yes … I posted a few weeks ago about heel pain in one foot and ankle pain in another …. wend to orthopedic doctor … thankfully no planters fasciiatis. However, he asked if i frequently went without shoes and whether I had a tile or hardwood flooring. He said I don't have enough padding on the bottom of my feet … bruised myself by wearing no shoes around the house and trying to run with minimalist shoes … (at least I'm skinny somewhere!)

did he ask if you wore flip flops?  Many do not understand what that is doing to their feet

Mine got worse when we moved into our house with laminate floors. It makes me cringe when I see people barefoot or in those skimpy shoes. Hmmmm I wonder if they could take the fat from 'elsewhere' on me and put it in my heels!

He said he didn't mind flip flops as opposed to going bare foot but was adamant about staying away from the $2 ones at target/walmart … he said to think quality with a good padded soul … tevas or the higher quality sandals. He prefers a supportive sole with arch support!
