I'm flying from Rhode Island to Texas to see this rodeo and I'm very excited. My question is do you think there will be many vendors there for the 1 day only rodeo? I'm going to be looking for saddle pads and would also like to sit my but in a Crown C. Are there any good quality tack shops around that area?
Thanks in advance.

I don't know about vendors at the American, but I would suggest a trip to Teskey's in Weatherford to try out saddles. That is always a fun place to visit. Check their opening hours though.

The PBR event is the day before so there will be 2 days of events. Yes there will be many vendors there....and it is Texas so tons of western shops within driving distance...

There's a steer wrestling qualifier coming up in Topeka, KS, in January I believe. I just saw that announced on Facebook by the Expocentre's livestock events manager. More than likely there will be some contestants that I rodeo with, which will be pretty cool.
If I were you I would buy a rental car and head to Greenville. That is where Martin is and Greenville is maybe an hour and a half away. Then you can try all sorts of martin saddles and talk to them yourself.
Side note-I am SURE there will be lots of vendors there. They would be stupid not to.

Thank you Sassy. I'm definately going to Martin. I will bring pics of my boy with his current saddle on and see what they say. Thanks everyone. I'm really excited.

Just on a side note you may want to make sure they will be open when you do come. I don't remember what their hours are but something keeps telling me the hours can be funky. I don't know why.
