We all know we can miss something but when it happens all the time, there just has to be a better way. I schedule appointments and transportation for those that we can not take to their Dr. appointments. Here is our process and you give me idea's of how to make this better.
Person writes orders and this person is suppose to put order in a transportation book for me.
The second way this could go is:
I schedule an appointment and give to said person, they write the order and then it's suppose to go into the book for me to schedule transportation/put on calender.
They usually miss the step of putting the order back in transportations book to get them transportation to go out.
My boss wants me to come up with a better way, I just don't know of any other way.

Is there any way that they can give you the information to put it in the transportation book yourself? That way you are the one responsible for making sure it gets in the book and not relying on someone else to get it in there..
At our clinic when we try to use the least amount of steps we try to eliminate the amount of people that touch the thing.

Well we have tried that and yes, things ran smoother in that area except I have 10 other job titles and that one took all my time. When I wrote the orders for the appointments etc, I still had to take it to a nurse to sign off on and then if they would not do it right then, that order may not make it to the medical records box to be put in the computer. We are not completley electronic yet.

Nurses are like…….bad dogs. If you’re not the Top Dog (aka their Doc) they don’t give a rats @ss about what you asked them to do You need to get the upper hand
In one office at my clinic they talk about nurses and how “well trained and well behaved” they have some of them
Good luck there are some that can be awful to deal with.

It's not that they won't do it, it's just they don't complete their steps all the time. This can cause a bad situation and I am left to clean it up. Everyone is trying to do so many things but at some point you have to do something about it.
