This is my 9 month old Appendix colt. About a week ago I noticed this and there's been no change since. I have a call in to my vet but Monday is the earliest they can see me. Any ideas of what it could be? Doesn't seem to hurt or affect him.

Looks like he pulled a ligament. The flaring up like that is due to the fibers that "burst". an U/S will tell the tale. Looks like a horse that has had fenstration done on his ligaments. I wouldn't worry a lot. If he were lame then I would think poss. OCD...
