Haven't used it in years. Did use it on a TB race horse that was bad with her tongue. Worked on her. She would pull her tongue back, displace. And it helped to keep that in check.
I'm confused as to how that would work on a horse if you're not running with constant contact to put enough pressure on the plate to keep the tongue in place.

Tried it on a mare that rolled her tongue back all the time. It helped with that part but I couldn't run her in it as she was very stiff with no feel. Whereas she was fine in a regular snaffle bit. I'm sure they are fine for race horses that don't have to rate, bend, and turn but for barrel horses I guess I am not a fan from my experience with it. I just went to tying the tongue on my mare and she was fine.
