I'm looking for a saddle for my husband and I've found a TexTan saddle that seems to be in great condition but I have no idea about these saddles. My husband doesn't ride often but has decided he wants to ride more. He doesnt need a fancy, high dollar saddle but I don't want junk either. Can anyone tell me about these saddles?

I have three TexTans & just bought SO one for Christmas.
Two of mine are older, from the early 90's. One roper & one barrel saddle. They're heavy, hardy & made extremely well. Slick seats, more of a narrow fit but extremely durable & I love them. My newer barrel saddle is a few years old, lighter weight & wider fit. I don't think the leather is as good of a quality as the others but it's extremely comfortable & rides well. The saddle I got for SO is only a year or two old & a trail/pleasure saddle. It's soft, relatively light & everything on it is a decent quality leather. I'm not a huge fan of the seat material but it's comfortable. I am always on the lookout for them. If I see one for a good price I always perk up & look into it just for the heck of it.
