I have a 4 year old mare that came out of the pasture last week with a bowed tendon--which is what my vet said --I have never experienced this before, and am so far following the instructions my vet said to do. I have heard many times ya'll talking about BOT wraps, please inform me on these and if it would cut down the healing time for her. Any and all info on healing bowed tendons I thank you ahead of time...

I'd definitely try the BOT wraps....but back when I was a youngster, if one of my horses had a bowed tendon I cold hosed for 10 minutes, bute for a few days and stall rest for a few days as well. Then turn out in the round pen continued with the cold hosing.
That is just what I was always taught and worked for my horses. Different people have different approaches.

The first and only time I had a horse have a bowed tendon (thats what my dad told me it was) a friend loned me some thermaflex and I used it on him I think about every day until it was back to normal. I didnt stall him or anything just left him turned out. I think it healed in a couple weeks but its been awhile so I could be rushing the process.
