I have narrowed it down to two Triple Crown Senior or Purina Stratagey Healthy Edge. Any input would be nice. I was looking for something for my 8yr old thats high fat/fiber. Have not had her scoped but she has signs of having ulcers and I want to feed a good feed but would like to be able to feed both of them the same feed if possible.

I've been feeding the TC Senior to my two young fillies for over 2 years now.  They seem to do well on it.  I add THE Total Edge with ulcer additive once a day.

I feed TC Senior. I liked the ingredients. I don't like the price but I believe you get what you pay for. I did feed the Healthy Edge before but I just don't like pellets. I found that particular pellet very very hard and i'm also paranoid with choke so that is another reason I do not feed pellets. So for an Ulcer prone horse the TC Senior would be better for his tummy. Just my opinion!!

In my area TC Senior is $21 a bag. Luckily my horses are not real picky about their feed so the pellets would not big a big deal for us with the Healthy Edge. I'm not sure how they will do on the 14% protein though in the TC, the other is 12.5%. At the feed store thought the TC is real hard in the bag, it that normal?

How do yours do with a higher protein? That is one of things that concerned me. I also have some THE.

I was concered about the high protein too, but I did not notice any difference.  The feed can be hard at times, but usually is easy to break apart again.

They have recently started selling BlueBonnet Feed in my area.  I think I will try that next time I run out of TC.

I love my mare on the TC. I also supplement her with THE. If you think she may have ulcers you could always give THE GastroPlus for a month and then add in a ulcer prevent to the supplement.
