Location: IL | I have decided that this is my "year of color!" I am an artist for a living, I work from home, and I'm going to start wearing colors that I have always loved but have not been confident enough to rock. So along with loud/colorful eyeshadows and bright clothing, here is my new hair for 2014!

I also would do something like this if I had long hair and wasn't ancient. |

Location: IL | Thanks everybody! :) I sure hope I can rock it, I wasn't sure about it for a long time and then I figured that I might as well go for it. So my new thought process is: "If ya don't like my colorful hair, just don't look at me!" haha!
That's what I like about it, it's colorful but not NEON! I didn't want to look like I should be singing Wooly Bully with the Troll Dolls! LOL I asked her to make it colorful but not really bright.
She just bleached my hair for "peekaboo" highlights (that way they won't be obvious when growing out) and then she layered the colors in different orders. One strand she'd do blue, wild orchid, and then peacock green. The next she'd do peacock green, wild orchid, and then blue. So on and so forth. She said it's a new technique that she learned while doing her continuing ed.
Here are some pics she took while we were in the salon. The first one REALLY shows the different color orders!

Ditto. Love the colors in real dark hair. I'm a blondy. I have some pink hair chalk that I use every once in a while. |

Thanks! :) I was so excited when that hair chalk became popular but to my disappointment it doesn't work so well on my dark hair. :( |

I bet it doesn't show up well. In fact in my blond hair it kind of wears out during the day. I don't wear it a lot. Mostly at barrel races and then my friends little girl likes me to put it in her hair too. |

Awww! I bet! :) Yeah, I was concerned about it fading quickly too OR getting caught in rain and ending up pink everywhere! haha! Although, who knows, the color I have in my hair is considered temporary too. I may just look like a walking/talking rainbow should it ever rain on me! |

Location: WA | I just got my hair colored black (my hair is super dark brown to begin with) and then got peekaboo caramel highlights. Next timeI told the stylist she could do whatever colors she wanted. She got all excited.
My husband's grandmother in her early 80s has gotten blue chunks put in her hair. Not like old lady blue dye job but bold blue. It was unexpected but looked good! Doesn't matter how old you are, if you want it, go do it! Granny also has a couple tats, so..... |

haha! Granny sounds awesome! :)
Exactly, it doesn't and shouldn't matter how old you are. Do what makes you happy not everyone else, life is too short!
Make sure you post a pic after you go in for your new colors! :) |
