Location: My own little world :) | What do you feed your weanlings to 4 year olds? And what do you feed your broodmares? Do you give any of them any special treatment? | |

Location: Tyler, Texas | We feed Ultium Growth to our broodmares and babies. They are all out on pasture, and have good coastal hay. We supplement with alfalfa. | |

| No corn... You Have to bring / send your hay in for an analysis... period. Go from there, it isn't rocket science but if you want you can turn it into the equivalent of flying to the moon. I fed mine a small amount of oats, beet pulp, and bran soaked in water, enough to mix the added supplements of selenium because our hay up here has practically none, and Med Vet Mare Foal IIP. Somebody asked me if my last foal I raised was part draft, because at 6 months old he looked like one he is a tenn walker, anyway he fed his quarter horses a grain with corn in it, about 10-12 pounds a day and they weren't have as muscled or plump as mine. I said this foal never had corn and look how plump he is on good hay and a small amount like 4 cups a day of my mix. Corn is bad for horses & people. Good grass hay is the best for horses. the older a horse gets the less they need to eat, just like people. | |
