I have a 19ish year old gelding I have been riding for about 3 years, he was/is my first horse and we have such a strong bond and I love him to the moon and back but I know that after this year I'm gonna need to really step it up. I was unable to playday on him te 2013 season for family reason but i plan to get my pattern and everything else down this year.. Knowing that I will need an new horse soon means I need to think about selling him to get a new horse or trying to get my little brother to use him and just save for a new horse. The problem I am having is even just talking about selling him makes me cry, it sound babyish but I have come a LONG way with him and I dont know how to part with him... I will be going to college with in the next 2 years and I know i can't haul him with me but i just keep telling my self he is to old to have another bond with someone else like he does with me.. He would make a ridiculously amazing kid horse but He is my baby and I have no idea what to do...

he might have a few great years left in him. Cant you ride him and then not worry about it yet. its always hard to do though.. enjoy him some more would be my suggestion.. if hes able to.
