| What do ya'll do with guys that you may haul with or that help you drive but you are not wanting to have crash in your LQ with you? I know girls do have drivers at times, where do they sleep? Any special trailer arrangements or designs to accommodate that? |

Location: Arkansas | I've hauled to college rodeos with other guys (with my bf as well) and they always stayed with us in the trailer on our fold out table or on the bunk beds we had in the mid tack. We all knew each other, though so it was never a problem! If you are not comfortable with them staying with you, they could stay in a motel room or in someone elses trailer. |

| The main one I will haul with I know very well, but we are married to other people and I find that inappropriate in this situation. Just my personal feelings on that! |

So the one that your going to be hauling with is a married man and your a married women and neither of your spouse's are going with y'all? Dont seem right, and you dont trust him with money in your trailer? I think you need to find you a female to travel with. |

| Thank you for your advice but nobody said anything about not trusting someone with money and my reasons and situation about who is able to go with me is also not the topic. Apparently I am not as lucky as some and I do not have my friends and family standing in line wanting to go with me on certain trips. There will be other people at times which will leave not enough room in the LQ anyway, but I think we are off topic, I am looking for real options (primarily in LQ configuration) that will accommodate my personal situation and I was curious what others do. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | There's a guy around my area who drove an NFR qualifier for quite a while. He's a great guy and I'd hire him in a nano second to drive me if I was going to be hauling hard and yes I'd have no problem sharing my LQ with him. |

| I thought about the cot thing first, but I didnt want to offend .... I am contemplating not putting a full length couch in my next LQ so there would be nowhere in there for extra people to sleep anyway. |

Oh it was nice! we just had the two bunk beds that folded down when needed... bad side to that is it was on the other side of the bathroom and we had to leave that door open so they could have heat/air... so there was a time when I had to go real bad and just told them to not look! lol kinda awkward..... |

Location: Arkansas | Also, depending on how much you can spend, I have seen the super nice trailers that had a bedroom/ living space/ kitchen on the nose side, then a shared bathroom, then a whole other bedroom on the other side of the bath. That would be perfect for your situation! OR! you could find a baby freight with a living quarters/ bed in it that he could sleep in at night... |

cot in the horse area
If we were hauling partners and you told me I was sleeping on a cot in the horse compartment I would tell you to take a flying leap at my arse.

I kind of have to agree with that. If your hiring this guy to haul you and your horses around safely than I'd sure give him a warm/cool place to sleep, nice bed and great food. |

Hauling like that also helps you find out who your friends are and who your BEST friends are! lol We've traveled like that and some folks just drove me completely nuts! I'm probably the easiest person to get along with, and I just wanted to slap some people!! haha good times..... |

Location: Alberta | The last summer my husband roped pro his heading partner travelled with us the whole year. We only had a trailer with a weekender, it was mighty comfy the three of us on the bed up top!! Lol of course I had to sleep in the middle as the boys didn't want to worry about touching each other in the middle of the night!! Lol didn't bother me none, I was always warm!
We will be looking for a new trailer in the near future now that we have a toddler and I'm sure more to come and a midtack is a must have as far as I'm concerned, would be so handy for so many different things! |

This right here made me laugh! This was my arrangement with the guy I hauled with to college rodeos. He was like a brother to me. He's the reason my hubby and I ever really started talking. His way of vouching for me went like this.. "Most of the girls on the team think she's a ***** but I think she's cool and she's a hand." Probably the first part is most truth. Wish I hadn't been quite so tough to deal with on some things and more tough on others.
Any-who...
We'd split the hotel room 15 ways (ok maybe 8) but we'd always share a bed (to guarantee we got one since the other guys would hesitate on who they were sharing with, lol).. No problems with his GF or my now hubby. Lots of miles in the truck with him and we never had a problem at all. I'm sure we raised eyebrows but we didn't care, it was all about saving money and getting to sleep in a bed!! |

Location: Louisiana | If I hauled with any guy other than my SO, they would be a friend of his also. So he would trust them too, because I know he trusts me. Our trailer has a fold out couch bed, so he could sleep on that. I've never been worried about that kind of thing. I slept in the same bed as SO before we ever started dating and I had no worries. But that's just me I guess. Now that I'm in a comitted relationship I won't do that but the same room? No big deal. Though Kyle would probably be in the hospital if he weren't going to a rodeo LOL. |

| I would never expect someone who was safely getting my horse and myself to rodeos to sleep in the horse part of the trailer, that is just rude, if you feel that it is not "right" to have him sleep on the couch of the trailer then you should look at hiring a female. |

Location: Texas | I think it comes down to what your husband is comfortable with. Only the parties involved know the real dynamics of your situation. I know I wouldn't want to be on a cot in the trailer, but I also wouldn't be comfortable sharing a bed with someone who was not my spouse. But I am also real funny about things like that. The best option would be to haul in a trailer with two places to sleep.
But if it were me, I'd ask my husband what he was comfortable with. He's the one who also needs to be on board with whatever you decide. |

I agree with this. I've always been friends with a ton of guys and so this summer when one of them asked to ride with me to a few rodeos, I didn't have a problem with it. I picked him up at a Wednesday rodeo in western Iowa, we drove to another friend's house (actually an ex boyfriend of mine) and crashed on couches for a few hours, then rolled on to my boyfriends place so I could turn horses out for a while, on to another rodeo, back to the boyfriend's house, where Josh slept in the spare bedroom, to another rodeo Friday night & then did a late night drive to my parents' place, another rodeo on Saturday & back to Mom & Dads, this time with my boyfriend joining the rodeo group. Matt barely knew Josh before this and he wasn't thrilled about Josh riding along with me, but through that week/weekend, they got to be pretty good friends and over New Years Matt couldn't bring me my running bridle because he was helping head Josh's saddle bronc out. It cracks me up that Matt went from not liking Josh riding with me to being such good friends. I think if I needed a travel partner again, Matt would be OK with Josh
That weekend was perfect to pick up a traveling partner because I didn't ever have to sleep in the trailer. It would have been a little awkward since my trailer only has one bed and no air conditioning so blankets are off limits in July. |
