OT... I have it and the medication I used for years has been discontinued from all manufacturers. It was sulfacetamide and sulfer lotion. I can't be the only one that has this, so I was wondering what other people use. Google search comes up with some pretty odd home remedies, so I'm here asking instead.

I have it. I had tried many perscriptions with nothing working really great. I started using RENEW lotion from melaleuca and I wash my face with cetaphil- combination skin formula. I take doxepin 100 mg at night. I use bare minerals makeup. My dermatologist said it looks better than ever. I have 3 perscription creams/ointments that I can use if I have a flare up. They are protopic (mildest) dermatop( use the most) and Lidex (strongest and can only use 5 days in a row). Since using the renew lotion I have only had to use the percription dermatop once in over 2 years.

Thanks for the information. My doctor isn't a dermatologist so I have to come up with my own research and bring it to him and them he'll write a script. No insurance for a dermatologist so I do the best with what I can. I'll show him this and see if he thinks one will work for me. Have you tried Retin-A for it at all?

Sometimes RetinaA cream helps get some inflammation down. Acezone I think is a cream that I use sometime....that may be more for acne than rosacea, but can't remember. Doxycycline Rx. No hot showers. Cetaphil lotion. Aveeno makes a really nice cool redness calming foam cleanser. I can't remember the exact name, but makes your face feel cool and not red at all when using it.....very soothing Sometimes the pink label Benedryl cream soothes or hydrocortisone cream. Mineral makeup is good. Some Maybelline makeup is good. Making sure the face is covered with at least powder keeps it calmer through the day than going without....for me anyway. Oddly enough the sun is helpful to me..... not to everyone though... only some. For some, the sun makes it worse.
