Are you talking about the ones made by Three Forks Saddlery? I've heard good things about them. The saddle was recommended to me by a lady that is an NFR qualifier and now does futurities. She has roping saddles by them too. I was unsure of what size gullet my mare needed so I went with a Crown C Because I found someone that could do a fitting for my mare. As I have learned more about saddles I wouldn't min getting one now but don't have the $
My daughter has two of them and she loves them. One I would bet was one of the first made and still in great shape and the other my mom had made for her almost 8 years ago. They fit most horses as well. And the guys at Three Forks are wonderful to work with.
I suspected the older saddles tree might have been broke or cracked. Called them up they gave me Mr. Merrill number direct because he wants to see them all. It was cracked no charge for the tree just cover the shipping. Great saddle and wonderful people.
Love my merrill. The wait is worth it for the saddle, sometimes they have saddles come up for sale and they put them on FB but you could probably call and see if they have any used.

I don't recommend them... Many reasons. But watch the wear on the tree - set the saddle down and sight down the bars. In some of the saddles it will suprise you. Comfy saddle but won't buy another.

Talk to 3 Forks before you buy one used. They will gladly advise you on the tree in the saddle. Some people like the older ones because they are so light. You do have to be aware of the fact that he plastic trees are prone to break. You can flip the stirrups up and tell what tree you have. If you want the newer, stronger tree either order a new saddle, or have the tree changed out. These are really nice saddles that have a great "sweet spot".
