I would surely have him scoped if you can. Find out where and why he is bleeding. Some vets have you run them down a track or something and check them. You will have to give him at least 30 days off and antibiotics to prevent lung infection. Key is to make sure the lungs heal before running again. Every time your horse bleeds it creates scar tissue which doesnt have the lasticity therefore making a horse bleed worse and worse. I personally have a bad bleeder that also developed allergies and was showing heave signs. He was getting worse and costing me a fortune to keep him running. I was contemplating just retiring him.
