| A friend and I started putting on barrel races. We've always co-sanctioned but now would like to become more independent and begin purchasing some necessities. What computer software program would be best to purchase? Best price? We usually average around 200 entires and use a 4d format. |

| Barrel Race America is the only software I used before switching to an excel spreadsheet. BRA is very good but there are lots and lots of options that can be very confusing. Excel is great to use, as long as you know basic excel functions and commands, plus its pretty much free (if you have it on your computer. The program we use has conditional formatting and separates divisions by color, highlights ties, and holds the fast time. Just have to sort, plug in placing and money when the show is over.

Location: Tx | Since we have only held 3 and we haven't had more than 60 runners we just use Excel. But we really have hope to expand this year!!! |

Location: southeast Texas | Nbha tx 26 used rodeogo this past weekend. LOVED it on the contestant side. Plus side, instant text on your draw number. And any updates to that effect. On second horse drew 117. That changed after books closed and the gaps taken out. Texts of your time ran by the time you got back to trailer with horse. And the final results of who won and $$. Negative, took quite some time to enter data while you were waiting in line. |

Location: Central Okla. | I have used Charlie Horse ALOT. It is very difficult to figure out and set up. Once you do, it's not too bad. But it's full of stuff you will never use. It's made for BIG multi day races. It's very difficult to get your results from this software to your webpage to post results.
My favorite, user friendly one is developed by Steve Wright in Norman, OK. His wife has been BBR secretary and is director of the Central 4D Barrel Racers Assoc (3 states). His software is $250. I will be purchasing my own copy soon becuase it is so much better. It has several formats preset, but you can customize them also. It has very nice printouts and is easily transferred to formats you can upload to your website. His number is: (405)364-0274 . (that's off their website so it's not confindential. |

Location: North MS | Rodego sounds awesome from a contestant point of view- you might draw more contestants if they knew they would be updated on all the details that Rodego provides. I can't wait to try a race that has it. As a comparison I still do not know where I ended up in our state NBHA competition finals from two years ago- I didn't hear my time but I did hear the final results and know I didn't win anything. Sure wish I knew how I placed for my fairly expensive entry free. I asked the state director 3X, asked my local director if they had them plus asked Barrel Horse News if they could get them? Very important to make results available! |

Location: Southern Oklahoma | I use Rodeogo and Proline SE Barriertek it is awesome software and easy to use does all the thinking for you user friendly and contestant friendly. Text of their draw # and as soon as they run their time is text to them and is sent to rodeo go it current as you putting the times in the computer and great for anyone giving timed shots to their horses (lasics etc) you can watch from your trailer or house to know when you run instead of posting everywhere to find out what # they are on Contact me if you would like anymore information It was first introduced at my race back in the summer |

If you would like to compare us to other software, we have a 30day free trial and all the support you need to get up and running.

Would you be willing to share this spread sheet since you have it all setup? |

We use RodeoGo and love it! Our racers love getting the text messages and realtime results. The program can be a bit complicated to learn, but it can do so much. We wont use anything else. |
