| My TV died yesterday. I am not an expert on TVs and don't know which is better. Do I go with a LCD or LED? |

Location: Western Pa. | just bought a new TV was told the Plasama TV if you are not looking straight at it may not be as bright or crisp. Bought a LED love it no matter where in the room it looks crisp and clear. TV are on sale right now. Good luck |

Location: Philly | technology kinda goes like this. Old tube tvs, plasma, LCD, LED, OLED, and think there may be something new(er) now. Not saying one is better than another. Plasma used to be rated better than LCD for non HD service, but if you are going to buy a 40-50 in TV, you probably have cable/satellite. |

Location: The stix of Utah | Our TV gave up the ghost on New Years Eve. Immediately we were off to Best Buy. We had a million questions for the sales guy. My In-Laws have an LED and their picture looks really weird. It is almost like a live, low budget production quality to it. I can't really describe it. So when we got to the store were were sure we didn't want an LED. It is my understanding that LED's are the best for rooms with a lot of lighting, which we have. Also, all brands of TV's are not created equally. We found that the problem with my In Laws TV is that is a low level brand. We ended up getting an LG Brand LED TV and it is incredible. Plus it was on sale! I would suggest going to the store and talking to someone and looking at the difference for yourself. Good luck! |

| I think the LED are crisper, the 3d ones take some getting used to. I would make sure it is a SMART tv if I were buying a new one. Then I could watch my netflix and hulu with out having to deal with the computer hooked up to it. |

| Thanks everyone for your responses! We bought a RCA LED and I LOVE IT! We looked at smart TV's but I don't have internet nor do I see getting it in the near future because it is so costly to install where I live! Boo for me, I would LOVE to have internet at home! |

Our tv is a smart tv (and I LOVE it).. We got my son a tv for his room and since it wasn't a smart tv there was a device we bought for $30-$40 that plugs into the back of the tv. It picks up the internet from our router. He gets all the fun stuff that our smart tv gets. Just throwing that out there for anyone that doesn't have a smart tv, but doesn't want to go out and buy one for Netflix or whatever. |

ETA: It is very easy to hook up. Just plug it in to the outlet and connect the box to the tv with 1 cord (like an HDMI cord.. comes with it) and it prompts you to go through the set up process. It probably wouldn't work with an older tv, but I don't think you would have a problem with any of the fairly new flat screens.
