| I was informed last month that my horse would no longer be eligible for major medical coverage. I have had her for a year and they have not paid one dime on claims in the last year. She had one eye infection and two trips to the vet for mild lameness that was attributed to bad shoeing. The horse is completely sound now that she is barefoot, but no one will cover her.....even with exclusions or surgical coverage.
Any suggestions? |

Not yet, but it is my understanding that all the companies use the same underwriters. My current broker says he has checked with all the different underwriters and no one will write medical or surgical on her.....just mortality. |

| Try Plains Horizon and talk with Marvin. They are awesome to work with. Maybe they can help or explain in detail why you cant have insurance. |

Location: who knows? | I know Justin changed theirs to where you had to have them insured for something like $15,000. to $20,000 to get major medical or surgical.
For which I dont understand...it costs the same to do surgery on a $20,000 horse as it does a $5000 horse.

yes it does but your premium is higher..
with surgerys and hospital stays etc..cost going up etc.. it may have alot to do with it. |
