So I'm looking to get into roping just for fun, here and there, and have kind of been looking for a horse to do it on since I don't have one. Found this 7 year old mare for sale and was wondering what you guys thought of her papers in terms of her making a decent rope horse? I don't want anything fancy just something I can go have fun on. Will probably run barrels on her, too.

If you're just learning to rope--you need to be looking at a been here, done that horse.  Pedigree doesn't even matter at that point.  It is not a good idea to learn to rope on a green horse.  JMHO.

I know of a nice head horse for sale.  He runs 2D/3D barrels too.  He's super solid and is a "been there done that" kind of horse.  PM me if you're interested and I can get you in contact.

I'm not brand new to roping, just haven't ever seriously competed because I don't have a horse to do it on. I've got plenty of time on my hands to work one up. I'll likely just do breakaway. Was just wondering what you all thought of her pedigree for roping because I don't know what bloodlines to look for in that area. :) Thanks for the responses!

Bloodlines wise the the horse looks fine.  Can't go wrong with all that Doc Bar.  I'm Leary of Two Eyed Jack horses...we had one that was a little dirty and cheaty, that's all.

I want my rope horses to have some race bred to them.  I've been outrun by several steers when lots of money was on the line.  I wont let that happen again.
