How do you get started? My SO wants to do mounted shooting (he's not super into the horse thing, I kind of brought him into it so I definitely want to support him if he really wants to do something with horses) but I'm not sure how to get him started. Any info is appreciated!
Already have a horse - pretty desensitized already so wouldn't be hard to get him used to it.

Where are you located at? Best way to get started would be to find a local club to get involved with and have him do a clinic with an experienced shooter so that he starts off learning good habits.
Mounted shooting is truly the most fun & addicting sport there is. I started about a year & a half ago & pretty much have no interest in anything else!!! You will meet some of the most wonderful people you have ever met, the mounted shooters I have been around are so different than competitors in any other discipline.

Here is a web page for local clubs; http://www.cmsaevents.com/clubs/
There are active clubs in the surrounding states as well. I would encourage him to contact a local club and attend practice or clinic to see if he really likes it before buying any guns or holsters. You can usually borrow/try many types of guns to see what feels best. Ruger Montados are great guns for most men and some women. Holler if you have any questions, I have been mounted shooting for 15+ years. It is a kick and great people to be around!
Here's a club in Wisconsin http://www.mountedjustice.com/ But the Minnesota Mounted Shooters might actually be closer to you. I've shot with them a few times & they are an incredible group of people. They have a clinic coming up in April with Chad Little and that would be a great one to get into http://www.mncmsa.com/
Definitely go to a practice or a new shooter clinic. Often at these you can try guns, gun riggings, and start your horse around gunfire. The Little's are great people and their clinics are top notch!
Good Luck to your SO, it really is a blast and the people around the country are AWESOME and have kept me coming back!!
