Unfortunately… You can only switch from gas to propane… not propane to gas. Already researched that. :/ I just put it on Ebay, we'll see what happens. I hate that they charge so much now to sell things on there.

| My only complaint is that it's not as convenient to fill up as gas would be. Other than that I really like mine. I've had it about a year now and never had any issues. |

| Running propane your engine will last longer and your oil will remain perfectly clear .... so you must keep a log of hours you run it so you know when to change the oil ...
How many hours will it run on one of the 20 lb exchange cans that are everywhere??
Just carry an extra if needed ...
I think I would keep it and really get used to it before getting rid of it ..

Location: Texas | Here are my list of pros and cons to my propane generator…
Pros… Burns cleaner, exhaust not nearly as bad or dangerous as gas exhaust, can sit for long period of times without being used. (I use my often, so this isn't a big deal for me.)
Cons… I used $40.00 of propane in 16 hours of use. So it cost me $2.50 an hour to use it. A 20 pound propane tank lasts me about 4 hours if I have the electric heater or A/C on. That is an awful lot of spare propane tanks to carry around. I have 2- 20 gallon and 2- 40 gallon tanks. The 40 gallon tanks weigh 77 pounds a piece when they are full. I'm not lifting a 77 pound tank into my manger every time I have to refill it. And if you are on the road for a few days… That's an awful lot of refills. And you have to remove them to refill them. They aren't allowed to refill them with them on the vehicle.
I'll stick with gas… But if you like propane… I have one for sale… ;-)

My parents just bought a travel trailer and are putting in a gas generator for exactly that reason. They don't want to wrestle with those heavy tanks, and you have to change them frequently. |

Location: south GA | Main problem with the propane generator on my lq trailer is that the tanks always seem freeze up at the worst time (2 AM) and we don't have the valve that swaps between the two tanks, you have to go around and flip it manually to the unfrozen one. It does seem that we use up a lot of propane, during a show over Labor Day weekend last year I believe we used almost 10 of the 20# tanks from Thurs to Monday, but we were running the AC almost constantly. I can get the 20# bottles in and out of the manger, but it's a big hassle. I would choose gas if I had it to do over again. |
