| finally home from the hospital for today--
its soo hard to leave that lil guy.
its seems we wait till the fever and swelling go down to have the operation to put it skull back together and then the waiting game again for him to wake from that.
we still know nothing on the possibility of brain damage and wont for a while yet.
he is moving his right side very well-- left arm not moving..his hand will clinch sometimes
and his left leg sometimes moves..
they had operated on the right side of his head which controls the left side of the body
we are hoping this gets better.
otherwise we are just soo thankful he is alive
please hug your little ones-- I just want to pick him up and hold him..and never let him go.. to see him without a smile is a rareity..so this all concerns the whole family.
the good thing is both sides of the parents family are very tight when it comes to the grandkids.
ill find out more in the am after the dr does his 9 am rounds |

| GRACIOUS HEAVENLY FATHER, we boldly come before your throne of Grace asking, Lord, that you would heal this child. Please,God, we petition you to please make Brantlee whole and healthy again. We give you many THANKS, Father, for the blessings of awesome doctors, nurses and medical facilities that are able to get people where they need to be so very fast. Please, God, lay your hands on Brantlee's parents, grandparents and family to give them peace and comfort as they deal with this tragic accident. Allow them, Lord, some rest so that they may be strong when they need to be...give them that strength that only comes from you. In the powerful name of your Son, Jesus Christ, we ask these things. Thank you, Father. Amen.
Can I ask that several of our awesome BHW people come in agreement with me on this prayer? Where there are two or three gathered.........

Location: Western Pa. | Prayers going your way. Roz he is at an age they heal quickly and hopefully will have no or minimal lasting effects. I know the feeling Heather was 26 months old when she got encephalitis from the swine flue. The doctors did not know what the lasting effects would be. She came home from the hospital like a new born. She had been walking and talking. It took 3 to 6 months but she as back to normal. They also said that they did not know how it would affect her learning and would not until she went to school. She did fine in school and has her Masters and You may remeber Heather. We are usually with Sue and Kelly. It is ascarry time for parents and grandparents. |

| just got home from the hospital from seeing lil man. oh it was heart wrenching today they took brantlees breathing tube out and he was having trouble breathing due ot the irritation from teh tubes down his throat--the nurses and dr were messing with him he started to thrash and clearly said OWW. and tears came from both eyes..poor april freaked he was in pain.. bacically lost it right there.
i dont know whats worse-- watching your grandchild go through this or your children going through the pain--it seems us grandparents geta double dose. they have put his surgery off till the end of the week and had to boost up his meds to get him to relax-- they want him to wake up onhis own. so we basically just wait. i have heard such great stories of children with the same injuries coming out after rehab perfect-- we are all hoping for this--but we do know there are risks.
i want to thank you guys for letting me vent here .. with everyone so linked on fb-- we try to stay soo strong for our children - they are going through enough pain-- they dont need to see us going through the pain too

Here's a newpaper article about my daughter Jaycie. When she was 5 she was kicked in the top of the head by a horse. It crushed the top right side of her skull and she had bone fragments all over down deep in her brain. That was 6 yrs ago and she is a perfectly normal 11 yr old. When kids are little they have the ability to heal much better than even an older child. The doctors told us had Jaycie been even 6 or 7 yrs old she probably wouldn't have healed the way she did. When they are little the brain isn't finished growing and can re-route information and other parts of the brain can compensate for what was injured, or in our case, removed. Your little guy will heal up just fine, I'm sure of it. Those little toots are much stronger and resilient than we given them credit. Prayers to you and your family.

Good lord, that must have been unimaginably terrifying. My daughter is 5, and I just can't imagine... I am so thankful she is ok!!! Hugs to your family!! Was the horse being a jerk when it happenned, or just a plain accident? |

| i am soo thankful for all the prayers
lil man had a rough day yesterday . not responding in any way but had his eyes open-- they reduced the morphine he was on and he had physical therapy today after the morphine levels came down he came alive--is talking tried to smile. i am headed up after work tonight to see him.. i got to talk to him on the phone breifly.. but nanny needs to see him in person . this a 180 turnaround compared to what the drs said just this morning.
i am so happy to hear all the stories of young children having these accidents with no ill effects in the future-- we are thankful hes alive..but having him back 100% down the road will be a true blessing to our family.
now nanny can take a nap before work tonight |
