Location: Riding Crackhead. | Poor Renea. She has to be going insane. I was one of the lucky ones that got entered, card charged only once and got my email confirmation. 2 of my friends had the same luck I did and 2 friends hit submit and it went down again. They aren't sure if they're entered or not. I hope everyone has patience. |

OK first of all we have to meet up down there! 2nd I feel horrible for her. It just goes to show everyone and their dog wants to run at this since its got amazing added money but more than that she runs such an awesome barrel race! My daughter does FB and she said there's a lot of people getting ticked off. My 2 friends that it froze up on checked their credit cards and they were charged so it sounds like they'll be ok. Its just going to take time to get everyone notified. |

There is is a list on FB now of the ones who got through. The website is down until 3:30 or so for repairs and people who got multiple charges. |

I about had an anxiety attack at 11:59. I thought to myself. This is the dumbest thing ever to be so wound up about a barrel race! I look forward to meeting you! |

Hope people get what they want, already some major grumbling going on over at FB. I know I'd be super mad too, but even if the website worked like a charm, there is the risk you wouldn't get what you wanted. Poor Renae! |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | I saw now where they are shutting it down until tomorrow. I wish people wouldn't have been so psycho and hit submit so many times. That helped crash it and now its showing all stalls are over sold plus sessions are over sold. They have to call each person and find out exactly how many stalls they need and what sessions they want. Its very unfortunate. Renea posted someone hit submit 25 times which charged their CC 25 times, took that many stalls and that many entries. Wow |

I tried entering at 12:50 ish until the website crashed. I'm hoping that those sessions are filled with duplicates. Those are the ones I needed to work around school! Go figure. Look forward to meeting you guys and wish you luck entering tomorrow :) |

Good for you guys! I really want to go, but whatever will happen I'll just have to work around! Everything happens for a reason. Last year I got in before the website crashed then had to scratch at the deadline because my mare got hurt. |

That's what happened with my friend and her daughter. We were all 3 sitting around my kitchen table on laptops, I got my link up right away, entered and had everything completed with a email confirmation and my friends filled theirs out, hit submit and.....error. Their names are on the list and credit card charged. We're going to Lincoln!!!!! |

I agree! We are running 5 horses in the Friday night open, then he's got one in the morning Bonus & one in the evening bonus, I've got some in the morning open & 2 in the Saturday night bonus, then he's got both horses in the Sunday morning open & I'm in the Sunday bonus. We are gonna be busy!!
CYA - I just assume we got those sessions because I got through so quickly and a couple of those sessions are overfilled. I wish I could be nice and volunteer to move from Friday night's open to help the overfill problem but there's no other way to do all of my runs. |

Oh OK thank you. I'm just kinda assuming the same myself then. I had my entry go through right shortly after it opened and got my confirmation email at 1:00. There's no way I can move any horses around either. I won't get there in time Thurs to run and prefer not to run Sunday just for the sake its a long haul home. |

| www.bonusracefinals.com if you were at any race that was a bonus race qualifier, you are eligible for the open race. They don't list anyone who participated, just winning qualifiers, but if you look and see if the race you were at, you're good to go for the open. |

I don't have the foggiest what a better solution would be unless we all did the mail in entries or else had different letters of the alphabet enter at a different time. Its going to be hard though with limited stalls. My buddy Tera didn't get in today but her cousin/travel partner got in with his 2 entries. We're hoping she has better luck tomorrow. We'll most definately start a thread closer to the event. |

| I wasn't able to get in today. I tried for over 30 minutes, walked away for a bit and then the they took it down before I got back. I'm frustrated since I'm traveling with other folks and hoping the sessions i end up in won't screw up our travel plans or force me the extra gas $ to haul myself. I hope I can get a stall, but as long as we are allowed to bring pens again if we don't one I'll be okay with that.
I don't know what the solution is, but surely there are options out there that can handle 3000 people if 50,000+ seat arenas can sell out of concert tickets in 15 minutes or less. I feel bad for Renee, it's a sucky situation all around for everyone who didn't get entered up today.

I agree about there not being an easy solution to make things fair for everything. It stinks for the people who need to be entered together for travel plans. My mom's only suggestion was to change the form so people could enter up to 3 people at one time rather than having to submit the 1st entry, then refresh the entry page to enter the next person. I was lucky to get Matt and I both entered without major trouble, but it sure would have been nice to be able to enter us both at once instead of stressing over getting the second set of entries submitted. |

The slots aren't full yet--entries are re-opening tomorrow at I think 1pm. They needed a chance to regroup and pull out the duplicates. |

This. I`m not saying names but some people are throwing suckers. With Lord knows how many people hitting submit numerous times, some did it 25 times! that took a lot of slots and stalls. I cant imagine the mess that is to call each person. A little patience from all would have saved a lot of confussion. |

So everyone can qualify but there's a limit as to how many entries are accepted? is this what is happening? Everyone jammed up the system trying to enter? I sure see Renee trying to do right by everyone which i think is admirable. |

If you run at any sanctioned Bonus Race you can run in the Open with $10,000 added. In order to qualifiy for the Bonus Round which now has over $50,000 added you had to win get 1st or 2nd in the avg of a division at a sanctioned series or if it was a bigger individual run like one of Renaes Barrel Bash's you had to win 1st or 2nd in the division. The more entries a barrel race or series has the more places per division get a qualifier number. Clear as mud? LOL |

Ooops I didn't answer all your questions. There's limited stalls and limited entries in each of the sessions. The biggest reason for the rush is Renae is known for her excellent run barrel races and there aren't any barrel races in our neck of the woods that have that kind of added money. For me, I won 3 qualifiers so I'm lucky to get to take 3 horses and its worth the 7 hour drive for me. I think I heard someone say they will allow people to set up pens but I'm not on FB so I don't know if that's accurate or not. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | She just posted this on the website. ENTRY UPDATE AS OF JAN 26 (PRIOR TO ENTRIES RE-OPENING AT 1 PM) We have processed all duplicate entries and taken them out of the overall numbers and determined we are within a hand-full of stalls being completely sold out. We will not be able to open up the stall sales again, as the computer will most-likely oversell them without being able to shut them off fast enough. We will TAKE REQUESTS for stalls and log them in the order received. I know we will have stalls open up from refund requests AND I am also in the process of obtaining tent stalling. I do not have tent stalls confirmed at this time, but i have received the OK from the LEC to bring in tent stalling (tent stalling will be sold at our cost I’m guessing between $75-85 per stall for the event). Any entries made that request stalls will be added onto those lists. If you decide you cannot enter because a hauling partner cannot get entered or they can't get stalls, etc. I will be more than happy to process your refund between now and Feb 1 with NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES TAKEN OUT. | Yes they will allow pens. She's looking into tent stalling as well but has said she will allow pens even if they get tent stalls. I'll be saving my money since we have pens.
Renee has said that anyone with a qualifier ID will be allowed to run in the Bonus Race, the Open jackpot entries remain limited. |

Location: Fort Collins, CO | it was a mess! the only thing is--i'm a bit surprised they didn't learn from last year, because the site crashed for the same reason but it wasn't as bad as this year.
The only reason my friends and I got us entered is because when she hit submit and it gave her an error she refreshed instead of going back or starting over. That gave us our confirmation and then our email came through.
I just hope I was early enough to get a dirt stall like always! And i didn't know you couldn't enter the same sessions on different horses so i had to scramble and sign up for different sessions on my young mare--but yet i put in on both for Sun AM open. Hoping it works out!
Crazy entry, but it's always a good time in Lincoln! Great barrel race! |

It worked like a charm this time. The only issue was when I got a little too excited and dropped my credit card under the desk.
Friday PM Bonus Race, Saturday PM Open and Sunday AM Open, bring on Lincoln! |

If you have a solution then you should let the staff know. As far as entering in the same session I guess I don't understand what you mean because I entered all 3 of my horses in the same sessions. |

Location: Texas! | I never recieved a confirmation email just got charged three times so when I talked to Renea she told me she had me down, still waiting for money to get credited back. I was thinking maybe if they just opened entries for a session at a time they wouldn't get flooded quite so bad but they are doing the best they can with the situation and have been great at answering the phones and emails I've sent! Can not wait for this race!! |

LOL
$50,000 added, wow!!! We don't have anything like that in Texas. Good luck!! |

That could be. Renea did post a note NOT to do that since they won't move anyone around in the draw if you draw up at the same time. |

After taking a couple years off to haul the kiddo this is my first time qualifying. I'm so stinking excited! I actually won 3 qualifications and have only 1 good horse. I'm scrambling with a few older horses to hopefully get them back in shape. Heck its a 5D so even the old man of 17 yrs and 3 years vacation might have a chance. LOL Now if the weather straightens out so I can get stuff legged up in time. LOL |

| The issue there would be if one of the early sessions is a second choice for someone and it fills up, then their 1st choice fills up....although it is probably one of the better ideas. Even if they just staggers them by 30 minutes.
I'm hoping to be a vender next year and just avoid the problem by running in the Thursday sessions no one wants lol.
I think beefier servers and software is probably the solution. It's my understanding the race has grown in popularity quite quickly.. |

I wanted to run Thurs but with a 7 hour drive there's no way I can make it time. I'd drive down Wednesday but we cant be on grounds before Thurs at 8 a.m. One gal from my area is upset because she got 3 or 4 qualifier spots and couldn't get entered until today so didn't get the spots she wanted. She suggested letting the Qualifiers enter first then the open enter but not sure what others would think of that. |

Open jackpot is full.
If nothing else being officially entered is motivating me to ride...or at least put the dingbat on a lunge line until my saddle gets here. Dork was fresh today. |

At least you get to ride. LOL We've been in a blizzard all day and we have so much ice there's no way I can safely ride. I'm hoping February is a better month for weather. |

Were do you live? I've got a lot of corn stubble but the guys dug it super deep last fall and its real uneven. I rode up to early December. I have all intentions of starting mid February. I think I'll have to put my coveralls on and be a tough girl. LOL |

| We are fortunate enough to have an indoor of good size so I can start back whenever I have the motivation. We ran right before Thanksgiving and then shortly after discovered my old saddle didn't fit. So I've just been piddling around bareback once a week or so and giving him time off since then. Should have the new saddle in the next 2 weeks. Hope that the weather moderates a bit and I can get into the hayfield too... |

yeah---i think my mind panicked when I was trying to enter....i now see that it has been updated to say 'different arenas in the same session' because i thought it was weird!
Oh well i'm thankful i got in again even with one computer not working.
Not bashing it, but there's gotta be something to do like someone else said, maybe let the qualifiers enter first.
Gonna be fun no matter what--always is! |

I'm in SE Iowa. We've been on the edge of every weather system that has blown thru from north or south here lately. Today was 46 and now it's 16 with 30mph winds and dropping. More ice to contend with... Ugh |

Location: Texas! | That is a good idea, those who have already qualified enter first. Atleast they give you the option to choose sessions instead of NBHA World where you're stuck there pretty much all week running one order then reverse. I got in with what I wanted, friends had to skip the open and just enter the Bonus Race to be able to haul with us. |

Yes, the 2014 qualifiers AND 2015 qualifiers can be used to enter the regionals at Fort Smith this summer. I also wish I could have donated some of mine as one of my best friends has 2 horses and 1 qualifier. Hopefully she'll win one at Lincoln. I won 6, have 3 horses I currently run, and entered 4 so will be borrowing a horse for that 4th spot. I entered my youngest brother's horse (who I have run in the past and am halfheartedly trying to leg up again) but have every intention of subbing him out because I don't want to be bucked off in public! LOL. |

I won 3 qualifiers on the same horse. I have a pasture full of retired barrel horses but only 1 sure thing. I entered 3 that I hope I'll be able to take, might have to swap some horses out or draw out on some. I sure hope not, with that kind of added money even if my old guy falls in the 5D its still a good check. |

You're darn right about the 5D being a good check. Clifford won it last year on about his 15th run ever and it paid $1495 plus all the prizes. That was with $38K added so it will pay even better this year. I am really hoping my old man can be legged up enough to place in the 3D. He ran bottom of the 2D up there last year and wasn't in shape yet so who knows what he will put out of the hat this time around. Since I ran 3 horses so much last year, I ended up with 6 qualifiers. The cool part was that my "good" horse was the last one to win a qualifier and even then he won it in the 2D. I hated "wasting" two of my qualifiers, but I don't have any way of getting more horses up there to run. As it is, horse #4 has to ride with Matt because I can't haul 4 in my rig. He didn't immediately say that was fine so I may have some sweet talking to do between now and April. LOL. |

I think there are quite a few but I've never gotten one as my trailer doesn't have a way to use one. Matt and I are planning on staying in his trailer with a generator so we can have the horses right there with us. Now the trick may be getting parked on grass or dirt or at least somewhere so the horses can be on dirt or grass. I have more than my share of foot problems already with one and don't need him on rocks or concrete any more than absolutely necessary! |

Now the trick may be getting parked on grass or dirt or at least somewhere so the horses can be on dirt or grass. I have more than my share of foot problems already with one and don't need him on rocks or concrete any more than absolutely necessary! OK thank you. Good luck getting a nice spot to park! I'll be on the phone bright and early next Monday and hope its not a major zoo to get a reservation.
Thanks! I really just hope its not a muddy mess up there this year. Last year I was very limited on where I could go without getting stuck (2WD truck LOL). Good luck to you on the RV reservations! |

Maybe I will.have a horse by this summer. Hate missing such a geat race.
LOL. Are there many hookups they rent out? We got our golf cart rented this morning! I have bad news. They asphalted the one parking lot so now there's even less grass than there was before. |

My daughter said they posted on FB that they found in one of the pav's a place for 90 more stalls? And then there will be a covered area outside for more stalls. I'm not a FB'er but if this is accurate that will help a lot of people out. |

yes, that is true on the additional stalls. And I'd also heard about the new asphalt. UGH I hate asphalt. But I have some other ideas on where to park, and I'm considering going up there for a weekend race before April so I can scope out the parking situation and decide if we need to work some contacts and find a different place to overnight 6 horses. I've got a few friends within 20 miles of there and if all else fails, we can probably drive over to Sidney Iowa and crash in a buddy's yard. |

Location: Nebraska | I usually sneak my small rig into the camper parking during the big barrel bashes, lol. There's a few spots on grass but are a mile away so I'm hoping to be able to get one of those at least. I really need to invest in some soft rides for my mare who gets sore feet, but haven't yet since she usually doesn't have to stand on concrete. I'm lucky I didn't need a stall. I live about 20 miles away so will just haul back and forth. I know of a few people too that might take people overnight. |
