| I haven't posted much about my daughter in quite some time as I had some rather nasty comments about bragging. So I took the hint and stopped posting much at all actually.
But many of you have watched The Kiddo grow up through BHW over the last 10 years. So those of you that are interested, I hope you will join us on the latest chapter of her rodeo experience. Those of you that aren't, I respect that and only ask that you send no ill wishes our way.
The Kiddo filled her permit last summer and stopped rodeo'ing because we wanted to start a new year as her being a rookie. So far, she has entered 3 rodeo's and drawn checks in both Topeka and Lincoln so she's 2 for 3 so far. She is sitting about 11th right now in the rookie standing but the other girls have between 12-13 rodeo's to her 3. She is up Saturday in the perf at Rapid City so please wish her luck. She is gaining confindence in her horse and her horse just keeps getting better and better. She's been drawing checks in really tough competition and she's still making some mistakes.
For those of you wishing to follow her journey and honestly want to see her do good, please find her on Facebook. Take The Cash Quick. We both believe she has an honest shot at winning Rookie Of The Year and she is focused on that goal. Please wish her luck in this exciting year.
Thanks!

Nothing can be worse than Lincoln, lol! It was won with an 11.06. The Kiddo ended up 10th with an 11.48. She honestly had enough bobbles that she had time she could have made up. |

Good luck to him!
Thanks everyone! And I about fell off at Lincoln last year along with creaming third so this year I wasn't about to let that pen win against me again lol. |

| Good Luck at Rapid City - I ran there last year - small challenging pen - I hope you are down a little in the drag - the ground will actually get a little better. No place to really warm up outside except trotting along the grass on side of the road.
Good luck pursuing your goals and dreams as well. It's a tough road with many ups and downs. Just surround yourself with good positive people. Some of the girls on the road can appear nice, but maybe always are not - so don't be too trusting.
Just keep doing what you are doing and stick to your plan. Hardest part is traveling up and down the road and trying to find a place to layover.
One more thing - try not to be intimidated by the girls around you - it may happen - but just take a deep breath and know that your horse is talented.
In the end, this is as much about the rider being athletic and intelligent as the horse is gifted and trained.... don't ever sell yourself short. |

Location: Colorado | Thank you so much! I'm 7th out in the performance. So far only intimidating thing to me is how many rodeos some of the rookies have and winnings but I just keep reminding myself that two of last years NFR contestants never made money in the winter rodeos. I won't hit the rodeos too hard until Spring/Summer. My main priority is still school.
So far all the girls have been great but I'm not a big people person so I avoid most contact and stick to myself haha.

Location: West Tennessee | Oh my goodness, Hope -- I got so tickled that Miss Martha B____ posted about the S. Dakota winters behind my good luck post the other day & then you replied. She's one of our elderly neighbors and probably thought she was talking to me...... She is an absolute hoot but clueless sometimes. I laughed and laughed when I saw it.
Can't wait for the updates from this coming weekend. Go get 'em!
edited to remove her full name (what was I thinking, LOL)
