One of the best I ever owned was sway backed! She never had any soundness issues. I used a bit more padding around the withers and she was fine. I think I was lucky enough to get such a great horse becasue she was not a good looking horse. I have spent tens of thousands on horses over the years and have never come close to finding anything like her.She never had a soundness issue and no voodoo was EVER needed just food, farrier, yearly shots, and water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter was just given an 18 year old that is sway backed.....so far so good. He is an old sweetheart and been there done that....perfect for an 8 year old. We are just using a swayback pad on him. He was a winner on the race track so she is super excited to ride him this year.

Sway back horses seem to FLY or exceed in anything they do. My friend had one and all she had to do was double pad him and he's still sound now even at 25. Although he don't ride anyone around right now (She's in college) he's still very much sound and they take him to ponywalks and rodeos for the little girls to ride him :)
We have one that between his valley size sway back and his J-LO booty you could probably run him without a saddle and still feel snug and secure. He's been like that since we've owned him and I wouldn't trade him for the world. He's a 1st class horse.
Mine has been sway backed most likely all of his life and it's never bothered him and he's the most honest horse I've had. He does any rodeo event you ask him to and he's never been sore.
