"aint no Barbie" Posts: 2272 Location: san antonio texas	To get to Rapid City with big rig my GPS shows going 385 to 79 into Rapid... I've never been to either state is this good to take??

Location: Lost with the rest of the MINIONS!	I don't travel Nebraska at all, but if you are coming from the south, 79 is a great road from Oelrichs to Rapid City. (4 lane).

Veteran Posts: 169 Location: Where ever I hang my hat.	Make sure you fill up in Alluance. There is a Cenex Station on the west end of town that is is easy to get large rigs in and out of. There is also a McDonalds close that has ample room to park if you need something to eat. Alliance to Chadron there are a few rough spots but tolerable and a few rough spots between Chadron and the state line but tolerable. Like was said above, Oelrichs to Rapid is a new 4 lane. If you plan on going up Hwy 2 in Nebraska, just be aware that it is very rough between Mullen and Hyannis, Nebraska. It will jar your eye teeth out.
