I've googled without success but since this board is full of women, figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Are compounded hormone creams (transdermal) inconsistent in strength?

I would imagine
if they are not an Rx version, they are likely not regulated by the FDA
if it is a doctor's prescription, it should be consistent in strength.
This is a common problem with buying herbal or natural remedies which are not FDA regulated... sometimes the substances are chemically impure or not at the strength described on the bottle. Brands can vary widely

My husband is a pharmacist and says it very well could be inconsistent. Your best bet is buying it from a compound pharmacy in that this is your best bet for consistency.as this should be their specialty. The key to consistency is getting it all mixed up well which takes time and some pharmacist just don't care as with any other job.
