| Has anyone used before a run?
I have tried Jailbreak which I swear makes my mare worse. Probably because she feels EXTRA good lol.
I was looking into the OxyCalm but I just don’t know…do they actually work?
My issue is she is really difficult to warm up, she bucks and crow hops. You 'just have to push her through it'...but it wears me out. She is big and strong, me not so much. My bf has no problem but she tosses me around with just a little crow hop, and will throw some hard ones in there every time -__-
She is not sore, and was just put on a ulcer supplement 'just in case', but she has ALWAYS been this way.
I don’t even know if a calming paste would even take that out of her but it’s worth a try to me. Any suggestions?

Location: oklahoma | I am shopping for something too. I have used Cool & Kalm, I just get it at the local feed store here. IDK if it would work for you or not. I use it on my mare - who has a tendancy to not "focus" b/c she is looking around. Not necessarily "spooking" but just looking at stuff & not focusing on job at hand. It definatley helps her. Her brother is the same way & I tried it on him & it did not work at all. But you might try it - I am looking for something for him since that did not work. good luck. |

Location: God's country...aka TEXAS | Try the Oxy-Zen from the Oxygen line. It calms them down but doesn't take the run out. It definitely helped my horse who would not stand still for anything, now he just stands until its time to run and does his job. |

Look on the THE website it gives what levels are recommended for your horses behaviour....level 10 being lowest!
Cowgirl Kat, I assume your horse eats them no problem!? Mine I have to mash between other cookies to get her to eat them....so not all horses jump on eating them like candy!

Ever think it may be a mare thing? Something to consider, because they are a no mess implant that is put in their neck every 5 months or so, under their mane.
A little off topic, but something to think about, my mare was a completely different horse in the good way. |

Instead of the implants, would anyone recommend some type of supplement? I know there are some out there for mares and their 'attitudes'. I definitely think it could be a mare thing for sure, not ruling that out. I just don’t think I could get the ‘implant’ idea past the hubby lol |

Location: MD | I like the Oxy-Zen for focus, but don't feel that it actually has a calming effect. The Oxy-Calm I used on a young horse who had to step up to the plate and run at a rodeo in a small civic center last weekend and I felt that it did wonders for him. |

I use level 30 but I only need to use 1 cookie. I figure I get more bang for my buck. Instead of getting a 20 and giving 2. So the bag lasts me a long time. You could call up THE and ask for a little sample bag of the cookies to see if they will eat them. If not then get the powder. |
