Location: Kansas | demand for him crossed on a cow bred mare? Been looking at eventually breeding my Grey mare to him (finished on barrels and awesome in the roping pen).I just see alot of running bred mares crossed to him. Wasn't sure about cow bred mares.....such as two eyed jack, jackie bee bred mares. |

Location: Texas | I've seen nice ones crossed on all types. I plan on breeding to him, but all my mares are runners so I don't really have a choice on run or cow :P. But they breed a lot of ranch mares to him and they go to the barrel and roping pen. |

| A college room mate and hauling buddy of mine lives in the NE corner of Nebraska. They have successfully crossed him three times on a foundation cow-bred mare of her father -in-laws. Those colts are OUTSTANDING!
Mind you, the mare has bone, mass, and correct structure with a short, wide back. Thus, ASOF has worked well on that cross as her strengths have balanced his perceived weaknesses that he can sometimes throw in his offspring. But I will say, each one of those colts is a LOOKER with BRAINS and ATHLETIC ability in spades!!
I would ride one of those colts for just about anything I wanted ...
ETA - They have had NO issues with interest and selling these colts. The one that hit the ground this last year was sold (on contingency of a live birth) before it hit the ground. :)

I just want to add that during the NFR I spent a week at Ryan and Jane Melby's. They were holding A Streak Of Fling at their training facility in Oklahoma during the NFR. He is a very well behaved stud. He is quiet and calm. I even took him out of his stall and turned him out while I cleaned it. He has a sweet personalty and seemed to have a good mind on him. Personally I think he would cross well with a cow horse.

Lol....had to go all the way to Canada! I will post a picture if I can figure it out. Also had ASOF colt out of a buckskin mare and he was almost grulla roan in the summer, but changed colors about 5 times a year. Really pretty boy. I would have a barn full if I could afford it! |

When I bought her I had hoped she'd grow a little bit taller than she was, and she didn't but she was built like a tank. I ended up selling her to a more petite rider....she will be run in futurities next year. I really liked her, I was just too fat for her.

My SOF dam is a buckskin and she came out a blue roan - HOWEVER I think she's going to turn to a dark bay roan. |

Nah. True Story. Fling's new owner is only about 2/3 of my size. Soaking wet. I do have one ASOF baby coming in the spring. We flushed that palomino DTF mare I ran some last year, to him. Got a recip mare due in April. Pretty excited! |

I was always jealous as heck when Emily ran my horses she'd always place better than when I ran them. Hence the reason why I don't let her run my horses any longer. |

Hopefully the foal I've got coming in April should have a little more size than the filly I sold this fall. The mare I flushed is a pretty good sized mare and the recip mare that is carrying her (hoping for a filly LOL!) is a big gray JK Copper Bruce daughter that I bought from Knipplings. So she's got plenty of room to bake in there. I guess we will see. If not, I know that he or she should be marketable at least!

I rode a friends mare who has NEVER been out at a busy barrel race with horse loping circles, slide stoping, and just warming their horses up in tight quarters and the mare was looky but NOT spooky ONE BIT. I thoroughly enjoyed riding her she was a pleasure! In fact riding my friends mare is what made my decision to breed my PD mare to ASOF |

I really liked mine. She would come up to me every day out in the pasture, real friendly and loved having a job. As far as riding her she was a little watchy but no worse than the Docs Jack Frost grandget that I've grown up on. She was very smart, show her something once and she had it figured out. Despite being short, mine was big boned and good footed, she was barefoot the entire time I had her. |

Location: left field | My mare is gentle and kind, but flighty. If you raise your hand too fast to pet her or touch her face she acts like your going to beat her, but then you just wait a second and then she's like, Oh ok, no big deal. But she's very good minded and willing and one of the best ranch horses we have.
