So I have been trying to find backdrop pictures to put stallion photos on (conformation shots) but have not had ANY luck. Anybody have any ideas on where to find them?

I can't help you on where to find those. However, in all honesty I think that some of the backdrops people use for thier stallion ads are horrible. I prefer a natural picture of a well cleaned up horse so that I know what I'm actually getting.

Something that is uncluttered for the background. I like some woods. You want your horse to be the standout in the picture. Make sure the horse is clipped and groomed --- Everything, legs muzzle, ears, mane and tail. Have someone who knows how to set the horse up and make them look alert, hold them for the picture but stay out of the picture. Take 3/4 front, 3/4 rear and a side picture. Make sure that the horse has his feet up under him. Every horse has a better side so use the better side and do not try to get a brand in or something like that. If the mane covers the shoulder take pics of the other side so that people can see the slope of the shoulder. Take pictures that show off the horse's best points. You need to take pictures every year so your horse does not look immature for his age. I know one horse that they use a two year old picture and the horse is about 14 now, seriously.

To add to what the above poster said, personally, if the mane is longer than the bottom of his neck, take a picture from the opposite side. I HATE not being able to see what their neck looks like because it is hidden by the mane. I don't feel that it is necessary to take a picture for ads every year. (Unless you WANT to. Granted, if it is an older stud, I don't want to sees a pic of him as a 2 or 3yo. But of he is say 6yo, taking a new pic every 5 years or so is good enough for me. And if he is say 18 or older, I am perfectly happy with a picture of him in his "prime" rather than a current picture.
