| I'm 19 and trying to start rodeoing full time professionally. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on sponsors and what requirements are and things like that. I'm extremely new to the whole thing and I just need some guidance is all!! Thanks and god bless <3 |

| Your not gonna get any big time sponsors until you've proven yourself. Your best bet is to try local businesses. However, in all honesty with being "new", you may find it very hard to accomplish this. |

I agree....you have to have, at the very least, some winning credentials before you will be able to get any big name sponsors. Start locally with businesses that you actually frequent and use.....nothing p*ffed me off more than a person who came into hubby's saddle shop looking for money and they had NEVER been in the business before that day! Additionally, my theory is that if you can't afford to go up and down the road without "sponsors", you should be saving up your own money to go....but that is just MY opinion! |

I agree completely NJJ! I'm an artist & I get emails from people asking me to sponsor them from time to time. Usually from people who have never ordered from me in the past. Reality is I'm not going to support someone that doesn't support me as I gain nothing by sponsoring them. And as a competior I've never asked anyone to sponsor me & I won't. If I can't go down the road on my own money I shouldn't be going. If a company that I use was to come to me and offer me a sponsorship yes, I'd accept it but only when it's a product that I use & believe in. |
