Location: Winnie, Texas | One of our fellow Southeast Texas barrel racers, Jan Burge, has lost her granddaughter in a horrible auto accident. Friday night Lexy and her mother were at a stop light when they were struck by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Lexy died yesterday from her injuries. Jan has competed here in Southeast Texas in barrels, team pennings, trail rides and is always there to help anyone in need. Lexy has been by Jan's side at most of these events. I have watched Lexy grow up and her young life has ended too soon. I have attached a link to one of the articles about the wreck and also to the you caring account that has been setup to help the family with burial/medical expenses.
