Location: Florida.. | is her hay good? is she getting a full scoop of it 2 times a day?
to maintain I feed half a scoop 2 times a day and good quality hay.. plus soaked beet pulp. I prefer Sr over complete.. personally i see a better weight gain with it.
you can increase it or add soaked beet pulp or alfala pellets to it.. to help gain if her current isnt working.. also is it cold there? is she blanketed or using energy to keep warm?

Location: Paradise , tx | The Triple Crown complete is Beet Pulp based, (that is the first ingredient listed) and the Senior is Alfalfa meal based ( first ingredient listed) I have been using the complete about 1 month so far for my 10 year old and 25 year old. So far not to much difference, I feed about 5 lbs( or slightly more) daily to the 25 yr old. Little less to the 10 year old. With their winter coats, I can not see a difference yet, will give a little longer. My 10 year mare's tummy is looking a little more tucked up, both seem to be feeling better, I like the feed and the old man seems to love it, he attacks his feed, which at his age is important that he eat well. Im hoping be the time they shed off, I start seeing a differece. My mare looks good, but my old one not as good as I want, that is the reason I started using this. Like I said, will try a few more months, then not sure what I will use if I don't like the results.

| What kind of riding do you do? What kind of hay do you feed?
I feed the Triple Crown Complete, and I actually feed my guy three times a day and give free choice hay.
He gets 2 scoops morning (6 lbs)
He gets 1 1/2 scoop late afternoon (4 1/2 lbs)
And 1 1/2 scoop evening (4 1/2 lbs)
So I wouldn't say you are out of the norm with what you are feeding if you are riding a lot. | |
