I lost my broodmare about a month ago. She was in foal to Guys Real Deal http://futurekashfarms.com/guys-real-deal-info.html. I now have a breeding, but the only mare I have is this Paint mare that is an awesome rope horse, very atheletic, but doesn't have very recognizable papers http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/shes+bueatiful. Would you breed a mare like this to Guys Real Deal, and do you think this foal would be sellable?

Agree, can you sell the breeding or will they hold it until you have another mare? I'm not saying don't breed her but if the idea is to sell the baby I think there are better mares out there.

I don't know if they will let me sell it. It doesn't specificly state the conditions of a mares death in the contract. She is very nice and said that she would love to give me a rebreed on a different mare.

see if anyone in your area has an open broodmare for lease with similar lines that you are looking for?
It sounds to me like the stud owner is giving you a breeding for another mare as more of a favor...
i would ask them before trying to sell the breeding... or read your contract and see if there is anything in there about it...
