| Can someone please fill me in on this show. I don't get it. I only saw part of one episode and they were all just walking around, there wasn't anything else going on. What drew you in to it? What keeps you? |

| I just started watching this weekend. LOL Got started on reruns and I guess I'm hooked now. Didn't want to be.
It is actually a psychological drama, for me. The way the characters deal with the issues, with the walkers and with other people. Besides becoming a walker if you are bitten by one, I guess anyone that dies of other causes will also become a walker. Wierd. But it is basically the drama of what the people are going through.

Location: western Nebraska | I watch it and love it. When I was hurt this summer and confined to the recliner they had about a week long walking dead marathon. After I watched that I was hooked. I missed the season opener last Sunday night but hopefully there will be a rerun this week. I am pretty pathetic aren't I? Rodeo Girls and the Walking Dead are my favorites and I actually said it out loud!!!! hahaha |

Location: Southeast Louisiana | I follow the story about the characters on the show. The living ones, that is. Also, we like to see the weapons they use. They change them up from time to time, and they bring out some pretty neat stuff.
I started watching in season 3. I got curious and watched all of the first two seasons back to back. It's much better once you know who everybody is and follow their stories. Watched them on amazon, but I think the previous episodes are available to rent on several other sites. If it was the last episode you watched, they had just gone through a major conflict with a crazy guy and his group. They were secure in a prison and all and the other group blew holes in the walls and crashed the fences. So, the characters were scattered and, yeah, there was just a lot of walking around. Much more to it, once you know the back story, tho. I would fill you in more, but I wouldn't want to spoil it for you. If you watch the first couple of shows, you'll know if it's for you or not. |

Location: Kansas | You have to love the human drama behind it. The characters are great. The sad part is many of them have been killed off.
Rick is a police officer in a small town. He was shot by a criminal and woke up from a coma in a ran-sacked hospital. The halls were full of half-eaten corpses and the surrounding perimeter of the hospital was covered with dead bodies wrapped in sheets and bags. Horrifed when he left the hospital he found the rotting skeletal remains of a "walker" crawling around hissing at him because she wanted to eat him basically. It goes on from there (Rick is desperate to find his family) and the story is very exciting and sometimes very gross. It's a soap opera on one hand and a horror movie on the other. Find a way to watch from the get-go. Oh, and I love Daryl. You will too.

Location: Midwest | The series itself is based on a graphic novel series. It's pretty evident in the cinematography in season one, especially during the Rick/Shane showdown. I do like some things from the zombie genre though I am not a graphic novel reader.
I like the series. I have not been fond of a few of the characters (*cough cough Andrea Lori, cough*) but for the most part, the acting is pretty good and the plot is captivating enough.
I still need to catch up on this year's shows.... I don't watch much TV, but this is a show I will go out of my way to get caught up on. The first couple episodes I watched, I was lukewarm about how I felt. Once I got to know the characters, I began to like the show. |

Location: Texas | I am not a fan of any of the zombie shows I have ever seen. I ran across The Walking Dead on Netflix and tried to watch it because I couldn't find anything else to watch lol. I turned it off the first 5-10 minutes and thought it was stupid lol. It took me 3 times of trying to watch it before I actually finished the first episode, then I was like... well lets watch the second one. Then I was hooked.
Sometimes I wonder just how many zombies we have to watch them kill, but the story line is pretty good and keeps me drawn in. I hate all of the episodes with the governor, I could do without the governor completely.
I don't know how easy it would be to start watching in the middle though, I think you would be way too lost. |

TRUTH!
The show is amazing. I think it would be hard to "get it" from midway through..but seriously if you start at episode 1, you could knock out the whole series in a fantastic weekend :) haha
People who say "zombie shows" are dumb...well this isn't really about the zombies. It is about the way they survive, the way the interact with each other. It is hands down my favorite show.

Location: Big Blue Skies | I never thought I'd like a zombie show. But it's not about the walkers really at all . Its about the characters like everyone else has said. I thought the beginning of the first show was a little slow but then it started building some momentum. I watched it all on Netflix in the beginning then got totally caught up this season. |
